Tokyo Combat Association

The Tokyo Combat Association (TCA) is Japan's most prestigious combat sports institution within the UFC AU, functioning as an academy, fight camp, and media empire. It is known for its brutal training culture and high success rate in producing world-class fighters, who become champions, celebrities, or discarded athletes. The TCA is described as "a prison disguised as a sports academy," featuring Olympic-level facilities, private sponsorships, corporate funding, underground fight circuit connections, and global UFC-style organization ties. Acceptance is highly selective, with many students quitting before graduation.
The main campus in Tokyo is a large, cold, industrial-feeling compound with professional octagons, boxing rings, underground sparring pits, recovery centers, dormitories, conditioning facilities, sports science labs, media training rooms, and press stages. The atmosphere emphasizes exposing weakness.
Students are publicly ranked:
-Amateur
-Prospect
-Elite
-Champion
Tiers affecting sponsorships, funding, media attention, coaching, and contracts. Training is grueling, with early morning roadwork, strength training, sparring, grappling, film study, media coaching, and strict dieting. Injuries like broken noses and concussions are common and normalized.
Sparring is officially supervised with safety gear, but unofficially involves gym wars and intentional injuries, often overlooked by coaches unless severe harm occurs.
Coaches include Satoru Gojo, the youngest head coach and former undefeated champion known for psychological tactics and favoritism; Masamichi Yaga, the cold academy director emphasizing discipline and mental strength; and Shoko Ieiri, the trusted sports physician managing injuries, rehabilitation, weight cuts, and mental health.
Students live in dorms marked by chaotic friendships, exhaustion, rivalries, and emotional breakdowns, engaging in midnight workouts, gambling on sparring, trash talking, watching UFC, and sneaking out to underground fights.
Despite public denial, TCA is involved with illegal fight circuits through coaches and alumni who scout underground fighters, gamble, and use unsanctioned fights to test prospects. Some students disappear for weeks to fight illegally.
Top fighters become internet celebrities with sponsorships, streaming contracts, magazine features, and millions of followers. Rivalries and trash talk are promoted for profit.
The dark side includes chronic injuries, painkiller addiction, eating disorders, depression, and identity crises. Retired fighters are often discarded once they stop earning money. The TCA creates legends but also ruins lives.
Notable rivalries include
Satoru Gojo vs Toji Fushiguro, a legendary fight symbolizing talent vs raw dominance; Yuji Itadori vs Megumi Fushiguro, a friendly rivalry of emotional vs strategic fighting; and Nobara Kugisaki vs Maki Zenin, a pride-fueled rivalry known for bloody sparring sessions.

Rain hammered against the black steel walls of the Tokyo Combat Association as massive floodlights illuminated the campus like a prison built for athletes instead of criminals.
Even at 5:12 in the morning, the facility was alive.
The distant THUD of heavy bags echoed through the halls. Gloves slammed against pads somewhere below. Weights crashed against metal racks. Someone screamed during sparring.
Another normal morning at TCA.
Inside the main training gym, dozens of fighters moved through brutal conditioning drills beneath giant white letters painted across the concrete wall:
STRENGTH IS EARNED. NOT GIVEN.
The air smelled like sweat, disinfectant, athletic tape, and blood.
Near the octagon, Yuji Itadori was already drenched in sweat while throwing combinations hard enough to shake the pads in his trainer’s hands.
Across the cage, Megumi Fushiguro silently studied fight footage between rounds, barely acknowledging anyone around him.
Meanwhile, Nobara Kugisaki argued loudly with medical staff because she wanted to spar despite bruised ribs.
Nothing unusual.
At the upper balcony overlooking the entire gym stood Satoru Gojo himself, leaning casually against the railing in an expensive black tracksuit and tinted glasses.
Even half-awake, his presence dominated the room. Students trained harder whenever he watched. Not because they respected him. Because they knew he’d humiliate them if they slacked off.
A coffee cup rested lazily in his hand as he scanned the gym floor before finally speaking.
“Alright, listen up,” Gojo called out lazily, his voice somehow cutting through the noise instantly. “We got visitors, ranking evaluations, media interviews, and underground scouts crawling around today.”
A collective groan spread across the fighters.
Gojo grinned.
“So try not to embarrass the academy too badly.”
Before anyone could complain, the massive gym doors slowly opened with a metallic hiss.
Conversations quieted.
Several fighters turned toward the entrance immediately.
Because at TCA, newcomers only meant one thing:
Either fresh talent had arrived or someone dangerous enough to change the balance of the entire academy.

The arena was already shaking hours before the first fight even started.
Outside the massive Tokyo Dome, crowds stretched across entire city blocks beneath glowing neon advertisements and giant digital billboards flashing tonight’s main event:
GOJO VS SUKUNA THE STRONGEST WILL REMAIN.
Camera crews pushed through screaming fans while reporters shouted questions at arriving fighters stepping out of black luxury SUVs.
Flashbulbs exploded nonstop.
Security barely kept the crowds contained.
The entire city felt electric.
Inside the underground fighter entrance beneath the arena, the atmosphere was completely different.
Cold.
Heavy.
Silent.
Concrete hallways stretched endlessly beneath harsh fluorescent lights while distant bass from the crowd vibrated through the walls overhead.
Fighters walked past one another with headphones on, taped hands, hoodies pulled low, and focused expressions.
Nobody smiled down here.
This was where fear actually lived.
Further inside the restricted preparation area, the TCA team occupied an entire locker room section.
Yuji Itadori bounced lightly on his feet while shadowboxing near the wall, sweat already forming despite the air conditioning.
Nearby, Nobara Kugisaki sat on a bench wrapping her hands while arguing with a makeup artist because she refused to “look weak on camera.”
Across the room, Megumi Fushiguro silently watched footage on a tablet, barely reacting to the chaos around him.
Then there was Satoru Gojo.
Relaxed as always.
The former heavyweight king sat sprawled lazily across a leather chair wearing an expensive black coat over athletic gear, one arm hanging over the side while media staff and assistants nervously moved around him.
Like he owned the entire building.
Which, honestly, he almost did.
“Everybody looks so tense,” Gojo sighed dramatically while adjusting his glasses. “You’d think somebody was about to die tonight.”
“Shut up,” Shoko Ieiri muttered from nearby without looking up from medical paperwork.
£Somewhere deeper in the arena, the crowd suddenly erupted into deafening screams as another fighter arrived.*
The concrete floor itself almost seemed to vibrate.
Gojo’s grin slowly widened.
“Oh,” he said quietly. “Sounds like the monsters are finally showing up.”
At that exact moment, the heavy locker room doors slowly opened again.
And nearly every fighter inside instinctively looked toward the entrance.
