Kohaku Shimizu is a first year Grade 2 jujutsu sorcerer who has built her entire social identity around being perceived as cute, delicate, and sweet. At first glance, she seems almost painfully gentle—a soft-spoken girl with a perpetually innocent expression, oversized clothing, and a habit of speaking in a deliberately childish, breathy voice. She acts as though she's easily frightened, easily embarrassed, and far too sensitive to handle confrontation. She constantly apologizes, giggles nervously, covers her mouth when she speaks, and acts surprised whenever someone raises their voice around her.

But the sweetness is largely an act.

Underneath the carefully constructed persona, Kohaku is deeply insecure and desperately concerned with how other people perceive her. She craves validation, particularly from male students, and has developed an almost obsessive need to be seen as the nice girl in the room. She wants people to think she's different from the other girls—softer, kinder, more understanding, and less "dramatic." Her behavior isn't necessarily calculated in every moment; much of it has become second nature after years of using helplessness and sweetness as a way to receive attention and reassurance.

Kohaku speaks in an exaggerated baby voice, stretching out certain words and adding little whines to her sentences whenever she wants sympathy. Even when she is perfectly capable of speaking normally, she'll often revert to the childish voice around people whose approval she wants. Her mannerisms follow the same pattern: she tilts her head, widens her eyes, fidgets with her sleeves, and gives nervous little laughs whenever attention turns toward her. She frequently insists that she's "too sensitive" for harsh words or confrontation, even when the situation doesn't actually warrant such a reaction.

Her uniform is intentionally several sizes too large, making her sleeves hang over her hands and the fabric bunch awkwardly around her frame. Kohaku claims that she simply prefers comfortable clothes and dislikes anything too restrictive, but she also knows the oversized uniform contributes to the fragile image she wants to project. She frequently hides her hands inside her sleeves and pulls the collar closer around herself whenever she wants to appear particularly timid.

One of Kohaku's most noticeable habits is her tendency to criticize other female students while disguising the criticism as concern.

She'll describe confident girls as "kind of scary" or complain that someone is "so aggressive" whenever another girl speaks bluntly. If a female student gets into an argument, Kohaku will quietly comment about how she could never behave like that because she is "too sensitive." If another girl is loud, assertive, athletic, sarcastic, or simply unwilling to tolerate nonsense, Kohaku is quick to frame her as rude or intimidating.

She rarely insults them outright. Instead, she uses seemingly innocent observations that allow her to maintain plausible deniability.

"Oh... she's really confident, isn't she? I could never talk to people like that..."

"I think she's nice, but sometimes she's kind of aggressive. Maybe I'm just sensitive."

"Girls like that are so brave. I'd be scared to say something so directly."

The implication is obvious without Kohaku ever having to explicitly say it: she is gentle; they are aggressive. She is feminine; they are intimidating. She is sensitive; they are rude.

This becomes particularly obvious whenever a male student is nearby. Kohaku has a habit of gravitating toward the boys in her class, often standing unusually close to them, tugging lightly on their sleeves, hiding behind them when someone confronts her, or asking them for help with things she could easily handle herself. She'll casually cling to an arm or lean against someone's shoulder while insisting that she's "just scared" or "needs someone to protect her."

She especially enjoys being reassured.

If someone compliments her, Kohaku lights up immediately, becoming noticeably more animated and affectionate. She'll downplay the compliment while clearly fishing for more.

"M-Me? Cute? Nooo... you're just saying that..."

Despite constantly seeking male attention, Kohaku becomes noticeably uncomfortable when another girl receives more attention than she does. She may become quieter, sulkier, or suddenly emphasize how "different" she is from the other girl. Rather than openly admitting jealousy, she'll usually revert to her usual passive-aggressive sweetness.

Her insecurity also means that she takes rejection extremely personally. Being ignored, overlooked, or criticized can completely shatter the persona she's worked so hard to maintain. The childish voice disappears, her expression becomes noticeably colder, and her insecurity becomes much more apparent. She may obsess over what she did wrong, compare herself to whoever received the attention instead, or become resentful toward the person she believes "stole" it.

Despite her manipulative tendencies, Kohaku isn't emotionless or purely malicious. She genuinely wants to be liked. She genuinely wants people to think she's kind. Her problem is that she's become so dependent on external validation that she has convinced herself she needs to perform helplessness in order to deserve affection. Her sweetness is partially genuine, but it has been exaggerated and weaponized by years of insecurity.

As a jujutsu sorcerer, this creates an interesting contradiction. Kohaku hates being perceived as aggressive or frightening, yet the reality of being a sorcerer requires courage, confidence, and the ability to confront danger directly. She therefore tries to maintain her "fragile" persona even in situations where it becomes inconvenient, sometimes allowing stronger personalities to take the lead simply because she enjoys being perceived as someone who needs protecting.

The people closest to her eventually begin noticing the inconsistencies.

Kohaku isn't nearly as helpless as she pretends to be.

She can be surprisingly observant, stubborn, and competitive when she wants something. Her supposedly delicate personality can vanish almost instantly when she feels threatened or jealous. And beneath the baby voice, oversized uniform, nervous giggles, and constant declarations of sensitivity is a girl who is terrified that if she stops performing the role of the cute, harmless girl, nobody will have a reason to choose her anymore.

Kohaku's Cursed Technique is Siren. Similar to Inumaki's Cursed Speech, she isn't able to control it, so she never sings around other people. She is able to hypnotize people or create illusions using her singing voice. However, if her opponent doesn't hear her voice, they do not feel the effects. Although she is overall quite annoying, she can defend herself and is a genuinely strong sorcerer.

Kohaku has long black hair with curtain bangs, dark blue eyes, fair skin, and is about 5'1 or roughly 155 centimeters.
