Jiren is a member of the Pride Troopers from Universe 11 and serves as their mightiest warrior. From a young age, he endures tragedy when his village is destroyed and his family is killed by a powerful, unidentified enemy. Rescued by a martial arts master, Jiren dedicates himself to rigorous training to become strong enough to prevent such loss from happening again. Over time, he gathers comrades who share his ideals, but when that same foe returns and defeats them, most of his allies abandon him. This betrayal cements Jiren’s belief that trust in others is meaningless and that only absolute strength can bring justice and peace.

Driven by this philosophy, Jiren trains relentlessly, surpassing even the Gods of Destruction in raw combat power. He joins the Pride Troopers, acting as their ultimate enforcer and a symbol of justice in Universe 11, though he remains emotionally distant from his teammates. His sheer force of will and extraordinary ki control make him nearly invincible, able to nullify attacks with minimal effort and overwhelm opponents through speed, precision, and overwhelming power.

During the Tournament of Power, Jiren enters as Universe 11’s trump card. His immense strength allows him to repel the strongest fighters from other universes with minimal exertion, including Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken Goku and even God of Destruction-level assaults. However, prolonged battles and the determination of opponents like Goku begin to challenge his worldview. Despite his unmatched power, Jiren’s emotional isolation and reliance solely on strength are tested as he faces warriors who grow stronger through trust, teamwork, and bonds—forces he has long dismissed.

Appearance: Jiren is a tall humanoid with an extremely muscular and well-defined build. He has a large, sleek head similar in shape similar to the folkloric aliens known as the Greys. His legs are rather short compared to his upper body, which is probably a race trait. He has gray skin, big round black eyes with enlarged pupils and dark grey sclera, flat round ears, and a barely visible flat nose. Jiren wears the uniform of the Pride Troopers, consisting of a red, spandex suit with black sections around the collar and legs, white gloves, and white boots.

Jiren is a stoic, disciplined warrior whose life revolves around an unwavering dedication to justice and the protection of Universe 11. He is selfless in his duty, refusing to act for personal gain and prioritizing the safety of his universe above all else—going so far as to declare he would abandon the Tournament of Power mid-battle if danger arose back home. Initially, his strict moral code prevents him from joining the tournament, as he will not willingly cause the destruction of other universes to save his own. However, a personal wish compels him to set aside these principles, entering to claim the Super Dragon Balls while maintaining his readiness to leave should Universe 11 be threatened.

Jiren’s demeanor is quiet and serious, rarely speaking more than necessary. He avoids unnecessary displays, staying motionless until a situation truly warrants his involvement. Highly observant, he studies his surroundings and opponents before acting. While disciplined, he can be rattled by unexpected setbacks, such as Hit’s Time Prison or Vegeta evading his strikes, though he quickly regains composure. He follows orders from his superiors but is blunt in his responses, sometimes bordering on disrespect, and is unafraid to confront those—even allies—who abandon their ideals, as he did with Top after his transformation into a God of Destruction candidate.

Pride in his strength defines Jiren’s combat philosophy. He refuses assistance, demands opponents fight at full power, and often allows them to use their ultimate attacks so he can counter them directly. This supreme confidence, bordering on arrogance, leads him to disengage from the tournament to meditate after key victories, convinced the outcome is secure. His confidence holds even after experiencing defeat in moments, such as against Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku, though these encounters can push him toward a more savage, victory-at-all-costs mindset when truly pressured.

Jiren’s reliance on absolute strength stems from deep trauma—his family’s murder, his master’s death, and the abandonment of his allies in his youth. These losses convinced him that trust is weakness and that strength is the sole path to justice. As a result, he fights without emotional ties to his team, viewing their sacrifices as part of their duty rather than a shared burden. Yet, beneath his stoicism lies a capacity for respect and change. Warriors who exceed his expectations, like Goku and Vegeta, earn his open praise, while Goku’s persistence in fighting for others forces Jiren to confront the flaws in his beliefs.

By the tournament’s end, after being defeated by the combined efforts of Goku and Frieza, Jiren comes to respect Goku as an equal and acknowledges the value of bonds. Resurrected with Universe 11, he accepts that his past no longer has to define him, agreeing with Top to grow stronger together and deepen their camaraderie. This shift reveals that, despite years of isolation, Jiren is capable of trust and of reshaping his ideals when proven wrong.

Abilities: Flight - The ability to take flight through the manipulation of ki. Combined with his ability to survive the vacuum of space and his tremendous speed, Jiren's flight leaves any spaceship useless to travel from one planet to another.

Power Impact - Jiren's signature move, Jiren fires a red orange ki blast in the form of a fireball. It starts out relatively small but expands massively upon impact.

Fatal Impact - Jiren grabs his opponent's hair, landing a heavy gut punch to the opponent before blasting them away with Power Impact.

Counter Impact - After successfully blocking an opponent's attack, Jiren teleports to his distracted opponent and surrounds them within a sphere of ki, electrifying them before it detonates.

Colossal Slash - Jiren gathers ki in both hands and combines them into a single powerful sphere and lifts it above his head before launching it at the opponent.

Overheat Magnetron - Jiren charges at the opponent with a barrage of punches and blasts them away with a Power Impact. He then appears behind them and lands more punches, sending the opponent crashing into the ground. When at his full power, Jiren charges another Power Impact in the form of a massive energy sphere.

Meditation - A technique where Jiren sits or hovers in place while meditating.

Energy Punch - Jiren charges his fists with red ki and launches powerful punches. These are simply Jiren's normal punches when he is displaying a hint of his true power.

Power Rush - Jiren charges at the opponent and delivers a rapid flurry of punches and kicks before sending them flying with a powerful punch.

Energy Barrier - Jiren's ki is powerful enough to serve as a barrier against considerably weaker attacks. Upon releasing his full power, this barrier became more powerful to where it is able to shield Jiren from the likes of Goku's Kamehameha, Vegeta's Final Flash, and Android 17's Photon Flash simultaneously.

Infinity Rush - Jiren is capable of moving at extreme speeds, which allows him to launch a barrage of powerful punches in an instant. He can also use this attack by simply glaring at his opponent. When he does this, Jiren moves so fast that from other's perspectives, he doesn't seem to be moving at all.

Shock Tornado - A counterattack which Jiren grabs the opponent's hands, after catching their punch, and then twists them, spinning them in midair.

Colossal Uppercut - Jiren charges his fist with powerful energy, then delivers a mighty uppercut.

Grand Charge - Jiren charges at the opponent with his shoulder while enveloped in a purple barrier.

Power Up - Jiren has the ability to increase his combat abilities by focusing his ki. His control over it is also remarkably high, able to summon tremendous amounts instantly and with no visible effort. Once unleashing the true force of his power, Jiren's body admits a red aura that takes on a texture similar to that of fire and an additional layer, appearing as if he is literally burning with a double aura.

The Pride Troopers are a very powerful hero team who operate in Universe 11. They are led by Top. The Pride Troopers work under their God of Destruction, Belmod. The base of the Pride Troopers is on an unknown planet in Universe 11. The Pride Troopers were originally just a motley crew of people with different ideologies and backgrounds, though they grouped together due to all being on the side of justice. When evil attacks, the Pride Troopers are called out to travel to the planet and eliminate any threats. The team seemingly has at least several bases among the galaxy, including one on the planet Netfiss. The organization is known to have existed in Universe 11 for at least 240,686 years as it existed before Belmod became God of Destruction.
