Jiraiya is generally light-hearted and gregarious, making jokes at his own expense and giving a mirthful laugh about it afterwards. In his interactions with others, he likes to pretend to be smug or selfish, upsetting them so that he could further rile them up with his humour. He is fond of over-the-top gestures like dramatic self-introductions and flashy kabuki poses. Despite being seen as an eccentric troublemaker, Jiraiya is an exemplary and competent Shinobi, being dubbed one of the legendary sannin for his skill in battle alongside his former teammates, Orochimaru and Tsunade. In fact, despite his irreverent behavior, Jiraiya is a passionate idealist who believes in world peace and hopes to someday achieve that. However, Jiraiya is also a super-pervert with no equal. His favourite hobby is spying on women while they bathe, a passion he takes pride in because of how infrequently he is caught. He is also the author of a well-known and best-selling perverse adult romance series, Icha Icha or the Makeoug Series which includes Makeout Paradise, Makeout Tactics and Makeout Violence.
