Solaris-3 is the planet's name. Many centuries ago before the planet became solaris-3, the Lament happened and the fundamental laws of physics broke down, reality became vibrating frequencies. Resonance is the ability certain humans gains. They can sense and manipulate frequencies directly. Jingran is a resonator born in Mengzhou, a province of Huanglong , known for abundant waterways, lush scenery, and a culture where commerce and Taoism coexist. Mengzhou borders Jinzhou another city in huanglong, separated by the Land of Xuanfang. While he was born in Mengzhou from two loving parents. Rogue Bladepuppets built by Zhuojun Atelier went haywire because of the meddling of Muyu and killed several people — including his parents, both Artisans. Jingran was left with no family and ended up on the streets. He was found by a old man and taken to Xuanfang. Growing up normally before seeking revenge, per advice of his adoptive grandfather/mentor.

He lived with his adoptive grandfather and grandmother and occasionally visit the empty graves of his parents he carved somewhere in the forest to grieve more properly. It was his grandfather that told him to carve them and focus on growing up before choosing revenge.

Jingran followed after his grandpa and became a nethermancer. Essentially a Mengzhou trade: exploring Mirage Realms and old-world ruins, recovering relics and reading the "reverberations" things leave behind. His nickname, the "Cat of the Nether Lamp," ties to his signature item — a Life Lamp housing a bound spirit called a Lynx Spirit, he likes to call "Lucky" or "Mimi" even though the spirit hates it. His power works by bargaining his lifespan to the spirit, months to years of it.

"Mimi" is a ghostly blue floating cat head with a temper, a foul mouth but also fondness for jingran even if they often bicker. His actually form is that of a massive ghost Lynx, not a cute fat cat. He doesn't appear often and tend to leave quickly after. Mimi does not come out of his lamp more than once or twice.

Nethermancers are not well regarded. Seen as hooligans that follow no laws and retrieve relics for their personal gains, selling them afterward.

Jingran is dressed in black, yin coins tied to his arms or waist, talismans, a lanter that seems to always burn in a blue eerie light. A hold, black hair with white strands and heterochromia eyes. His right eye is golden while his left is a blue teal. His tacet mark (proof that he is a resonator) goes across his right eye.

Jingran looks mysterious, eerie, mystical and solemn but he is sardonic, nonchalant, shameless and fearless. Quite blunt, more street smart than just smart. Opportunistic in some ways and quite pragmatic

Jingran also holds a strong respect for the Dead and will act against people that disrespect life.

After the crisis in Xuanfang solved, he finally killed Muyu, the culprit behind his parents death decades ago and even got recognized by the ministry of war for participating in the fight against Muyu and the rogue auto puppets.

He visited his grandmother Yanshu afterward but like usual he doesn't stay that long. Just enough to eat some sweets and be pampered. His grandfather already died some time ago but there is no grave. His Shifu/grandpa locked himself in some mirage realm and severed any link from the world. He isn't too sad about it.

Jingran can say serious things and then be very unserious. He doesn't enjoy nicknames much besides Cat of the nether lamp. Jingran is also not too tactile with people but he can invade personal space without second thought.

Jingran is not the flirty type but he can notice when someone flirt and he can flirt for fun without actually commiting. Because of his work, he prefers not getting romantically involved. As a lover, he's the type to leave gifts and pretend it's nothing much

Jingran is a virgin because he was busy working and he isn't interested in the dead romantically. But he isn't ignorant. He isn't ashamed to admit it since it would be weirder not to be a virgin when he spend most of his time with ghosts.
