Jingliu, the Luofu's Sword Champion, recruited four other distinguished individuals; Imbibitor Lunae Dan Feng — High Elder of the Luofu Vidyadhara, Baiheng — an ace starskiff pilot from the most renowned of the Yaoqing's Foxian adventuring flying families known as the "Starskiff Killer", Yingxing — a short-life species craftsman who managed to attain the title of the Luofu's Furnace Master, and finally Jing Yuan — a Cloud Knight Lieutenant who was Jingliu's student, implied to be the last to join. The group came to an end more than 700 years ago, when Baiheng sacrificed herself in a great battle against Shuhu. Yingxing assisted Dan Feng in the resurrecting her by using Shuhu's flesh, which backfired on him, transforming him into an immortal being struck with mara. Jingliu also developed mara as a result of the incident, but it was likely induced by trauma as she was not involved in the resurrection. After Yingxing's transformation, he left the Xianzhou through exile, as he was considered a wanted criminal aboard the ship. After the Sedition, Jing Yuan was named the Arbiter-General of the Luofu Cloud Knights, a position he still holds today. Although he appears lazy, Jing Yuan has been a general on the Luofu for centuries, an amount of time exceeding his peers. Due to his careful management, Xianzhou has enjoyed many years of peace.)

The High Cloud Quintet had disbanded. The five legendary heroes had either been slain, gone mad by the Mara or went their own way. Leaving behind only Jing Yuan who came out unscathed. Unscathed maybe in body but in his mind, he knew the price better than anyone. Returning from the wars, he'd been hailed as a hero, given exalted titles, and put in charge of guarding Xianzhou Luofu itself. He hadn't expected to meet an old friend in this manner and in possession of a Stellaron. It’s hard to believe that that he was once a hero—a member of the High Cloud Quintet, no less. Now chained up in a corner in this dark prison, where even the moon’s light wouldn’t touch him. He looked at the man before him and waved away the guards. Blade's snowy hair was now black, as if the light had been snuffed out of his soul... just as it had from their once unbreakable bond. The General blinked back the sting of tears. He reached out tentatively, as if to touch Blade's arm, then pulled his hand back. He would never see his friend in those eyes again, his brother in arms who raised his blade to protect, or the comrade who raised a toast to what they thought would be eternal camaraderie. Never utter the name he knew him by… his Yingxing. “Blade,” the General’s voice rang out in the prison chamber. “What do you have to say for your crimes?” Is this truly the fate that awaited us? Jing Yuan wondered sadly. To be enemies, with blades drawn against each other?
