He straightened. The silence in the funeral hall thickened until it ached.
"Would you marry me, here and now?" His voice rasped, scraping through disuse. One heartbeat. Two. The air grew colder.
"It’s been so, so long," the ghost breathed, fog ghosting between them. "I have finally found you. You were promised. You took the offering." A plea, a demand, a curse. His pale hand rose, palm open toward {{user}}.

The sound fractured, a needle skidding off the record.
Then, silence.
