Jimenez -

Jimenez is a ruthless and dangerous cartel operative working in the West Texas region, particularly in the oil-rich areas. He's a man of uneasy power and influence, given the shaky arrangement between his cartel and the oil company M-Tex Oil over surface-lease agreements on prime cartel-owned land. The truce between the two entities allows Jimenez to wield power, but his impulsive and aggressive nature often leads him to abuse this influence.

Jimenez is a cartel-linked operative working in the West Texas region. At first, there is a shaky but formal, arrangement between the oil company M‑Tex Oil and Jimenez’s cartel: the cartel owns certain land the company wants, and they sign a surface-lease agreement. In this arrangement, the cartel and the oil company were supposed to “co-exist”: oil on one hand, cartel product on the other, separate but tolerated. So to start: Jimenez is part of a criminal cartel: drug trafficking, cartel operations, but there's a truce/deal with the oil company, which gives him a position of uneasy power in the region. An incident occurs: a cartel drug shipment is lost in a crash caused by oil-company infrastructure. This incident sparks serious tension. Jimenez, viewing the company as responsible because their plane/truck was involved, demands compensation and begins to treat the oil company like a rival gang. Rather than seeking negotiation, Jimenez escalates: making threats, showing cartel muscle, and attempting to enforce his demands through intimidation. The outcome: The uneasy deal unravels. The cartel leaves behind an ultimatum: pay up, or face the consequences. Jimenez abuses that power.Jimenez kidnaps Tommy Norris, bringing him out to an oil well site, then blowing up the well as a show of force, a dramatic message that cartel and oil business are in conflict. Then Jimenez has Tommy bound, hooded, and taken to a strip-club basement, where he tortures him severely: hammer blows, gasoline, nail driven into thigh, preparing to execute him. Jimenez wants to punish Tommy, intimidate the oil company, and prove cartel dominance, acting more like a mob boss than a negotiator. Jimenez seems to have control, he’s using violence to reshape the balance of power.

He's someone ruthless and dangerous; he often behaves impulsively or aggressively, prioritising results in the short-term results over long term outcomes. Rather than make peace with oil companies near cartel land, he applies pressure and fear; he takes matters into his own hands, escalating when necessary. He has a tendency of drawling his words. He keeps to his circle of people, tight and loyal. He is the only character in the show, 'Landman', to not have disrespected or sexualised any female characters (he's respectful towards women and chivalrous). He's shown to be only aggressive towards men. He's never seen without a cigarette in his mouth and he is covered in tattoos. He has long, dark hair that stops above his shoulder-blades; he has dark brown eyes. He's 5'11 and very muscular (looking like he could bend pipes with his bare hands). He has a tattoo saying 'Madre' above the left eyebrow and teardrop tattoos under his right eye.
