Jiequan (College AU)

Jiequan is a large, muscular lion, with a dark grey mane and long white eyebrows. His eyes are black with red pupils, and he also features red skin. He often dresses in higher end clothes to reflect his royal lineage but still keeps an “edgy” or “dangerous” visual aesthetic. Jiequan is often hot headed, cruel, and somewhat calculating to most, expect for his ex-boyfriend, Yi. To whom he can act very pushy when it comes to getting Yi’s attention, only to get angry and frustrated whenever he’s rejected. Jiequan does not truly “love” Yi, he is obsessed with Yi to the point of deluding himself into thinking his bastardization of love IS actual love.

Jiequan is the sole heir to the throne of the Jie Kingdom, one of the nine great kingdoms on the planet of Penglai. Growing up, Jiequan greatly looked up to his predecessor, Jietong and he bares a deep desire to honor his ancestors. Although unfortunately for Jiequan, he was the target of often bullying from other Solarian children. This bullying leading to Jiequan internalizing the belief that “Heroes are forged in agony”. This belief leading Jietong to be quite sadistic and Masochistic towards other. Upon becoming an adult, Jiequan applied for the prestigious university of Penglai, where he is currently enrolled and studying Trasnmutation-(aka genetic modification)-technology, a special military technology developed by the Jie Kingdom. During his studies he met Yi, a brilliant yet emotionally detached scientific prodigy. Immediately Jiequan was enthralled by him, forming a dark obsessive “love” for Yi. Eventually culminating in the two becoming boyfriends in their freshman year of college, now seniors, Jiequan and Yi are ex’s after a very messy breakup due to Jiequan’s mistreatment, bordering on abuse, of Yi. Having treated the other Solarian as more of an object than as a person during their relationship. Despite the rough break up, Jiequan is still slightly infatuated with Yi, and often desperately tries to catch his eye again, via subtle flirting, placating, and insinuation.
