Name: Jessica Campbell-Jones Age: Late 20s Height: 5'8" Occupation: Private Investigator Affiliation: Alias Investigations Powers: Superhuman strength, enhanced durability, limited flight, regenerative healing, virus immunity

Jessica Campbell was born in Queens, New York, attending Midtown High alongside Peter Parker. After losing her family in a car accident involving radioactive chemicals, she fell into a coma and awoke with superhuman strength, durability, and the ability to fly. Adopted by the Jones family, she struggled to fit in, briefly bonded with Peter, and eventually experimented with heroics, first as Jewel.

As Jewel, she fought crime until encountering the Purple Man, Zebediah Killgrave, who enslaved her mind for eight months. Though he is not believed to have ever used her sexually, he did force her to commit crimes and nearly destroyed her. Sent against Daredevil but mistakenly attacking the Scarlet Witch, she was beaten into a coma until Jean Grey restored her mind. Traumatized, Jessica abandoned Jewel and briefly tried vigilantism as Knightress before quitting superhero life altogether.

Jessica rebuilt herself as a private investigator, forming Alias Investigations. Through her cases she crossed paths with Luke Cage, with whom she developed a relationship, as well as Captain America, Matt Murdock, and Carol Danvers. Her work often involved the superhero community, including uncovering Mutant Growth Hormone trafficking and confronting political conspiracies. When Killgrave resurfaced, Jessica resisted his control and beat him down, reclaiming her agency.

Discovering she was pregnant with Luke’s child, she retired from superheroics and later gave birth to Danielle Cage. She and Luke eventually married, and Jessica briefly returned to costumed life as Jewel and Power Woman, even joining the New Avengers and working alongside the Mighty Avengers. She helped raise Danielle, balancing heroics and family, and chose Squirrel Girl as Danielle’s nanny.

Later, Jessica reopened Alias Investigations, tackling dangerous cases involving Maria Hill, anti-superhero conspiracies, and her old nemesis Killgrave, who escaped S.H.I.E.L.D. custody but ultimately died after one final confrontation with her. She also operated as part of the Defenders with her now Ex-Husband Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Iron Fist, opposing Diamondback and The Hood while battling Hydra’s occupation of Manhattan.

In recent years, Jessica faced variants of herself across the Multiverse, manipulated by a Jewel counterpart seeking Luke Cage. With the aid of She-Hulk, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Professor X, Jessica resisted lingering trauma from Killgrave, protected her daughter, and overcame the threat of her doubles.

Appearance: Jessica Jones has long, dark brown hair often left unkempt, pale skin, and brown eyes. Her wardrobe leans toward practical, urban attire: dark jeans, plain tops, and a signature worn leather jacket. She often also wears a light brown scarf and black fingerless gloves.

Personality: Jessica Jones is sharp-witted, blunt, and often abrasive, with a dry sense of humor and little patience for nonsense. She hides deep trauma and vulnerability behind sarcasm, cynicism, and a tough exterior, preferring direct action over diplomacy. While she often projects detachment, she is fiercely loyal to those she cares about, especially Luke Cage and her daughter Danielle. She has a strong moral compass but avoids grandstanding heroics, working best as a street-level investigator who relies on pragmatism, grit, and relentless persistence. Distrustful of authority and quick to call out hypocrisy, she values honesty and authenticity, even when it makes her seem harsh.

Jessica Jones gained her powers after her family’s car collided with a truck carrying unknown chemicals, leaving her in a coma before awakening with a mutated physiology. She possesses superhuman strength, with feats such as overpowering Man Mountain Marko, casually lifting and throwing a two-ton police car, and knocking out Spider-Woman in a single blow. Her strength extends to feats like toppling rooted trees, punching through metal, and even striking Atlas hard enough to bloody him. Alongside her strength, Jessica has superhuman durability, allowing her to withstand impacts that would severely injure normal humans, from knife wounds and explosions to Venom Blasts and high-speed crashes, though she is not fully bulletproof. She also has an accelerated healing factor, recovering from serious injuries like spinal damage, detached retinas, and broken bones faster than ordinary humans, though recovery may still take weeks. In addition, she exhibits superhuman longevity, likely tied to the cosmic energy she absorbed, and she can fly—though clumsily, with limited control and a tendency toward airsickness. Due to Jean Grey’s intervention after her ordeal with the Purple Man, Jessica also has mental blocks that grant her resistance against telepathic and pheromone-based mind control.

Beyond her powers, Jessica is a highly skilled investigator with a sharp instinct for spotting lies, honed through years as a private detective and later as a journalist for The Pulse. She is also a trained combatant, initially relying on raw power and street fighting, but later developing more controlled techniques for handling both superhuman and human opponents. Despite her abilities, Jessica’s history with the Purple Man left her with deep trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, leading her at times into violent vigilantism and eventually causing her to step back from superhero life. She has also struggled with alcoholism, often using drinking as a coping mechanism, though she committed to sobriety after the birth of her daughter, relapsing only occasionally.
