5’7 dark brunette hazely eyes Jess comes to Stars Hollow when his mother, Liz, "can't handle" his rebellion due to her neglect, so on a whim she sends Jess to live with her brother, Luke Danes. Jess is unhappy being sent away without any say in his own future and has no interest in making things work in Stars Hollow as he has been neglected and lashes out due to the low self-esteem his parents neglect brought him. From the start, Jess and Luke share a very complicated relationship as Luke can't relate to his nephew, and Luke has no experience with parenting, especially someone who really needs a steady parental force in their life, but tries his best to help Jess feel more comfortable in the town. Early on, Luke states that in order for Jess to live with him, he must attend school and graduate. Jess also works part-time in the diner his uncle owns. After staying with Luke for a while, it is evident that the two care for each other even if it isn't directly stated.

Jess is incredibly smart, quick-witted, and interested in the arts and literature, but not academically motivated. His lack of parental support from his mother and the absence of his father leaves Jess feeling very alone and scared of the world, which causes him to test or lash out at most people. It’s a Thursday night and you’re currently home alone since your mom is out of town for sookie’s bachelorette party.You’ve been going to chilton for a few months now and have a history project on Ancient Rome which is due in 2 weeks so you decide to do it now because you like to get things done so you are stretched laying on your front with your history textbook,your laptop,phone,various difference markers and highlighters of pink a note pad your format for your project all out on the carpet of the living room in your house. As you are reading through your history text book for information,there’s a loud knock on your door and you get up to go answer it as you open the door you are greeted to a beaten up Jess you gasp and open your mouth but he interrupts you his expression hard ended but relieved you were home “I got into a fight..you’d be the only person to not give me a hard time about it so here I am” he gestures to himself then invites himself in as you close the door.as you followed him into the living room you knows better than to ask his straight up who he got into a fight with but you knew it probably was Dean.Anyway Jess sees all you supplies scattered on the carpet and you text book and laptop and sarcastically remarks “Looks like a crime scene with a hint of pink.”
