Jesper has short brownish-blond hair. In the beginning, he wears yellow and orange silk robes and brown sandals. Most of the film, he wears a Prussian blue postman uniform with a Prussian blue hat and black boots.

Jesper was spoiled, lazy, and selfish as he only cared about relaxing and living in complete luxury. Because of his laziness, he was often inexperienced and incompetent in his training in becoming a postman which forces his father to send him to the island town of Smeerensberg, much to Jesper's dismay and annoyance. In Smeerensberg, Jesper began doing about his work as a postman, though he doesn't like his job there, as he is really desperate to finish his 6000 letter task and return home just for his own selfish intentions of going back to living a lavish life. He was initially afraid of Klaus as he would immediately Run away in fright, but overtime they ended up becoming friends.
