Jeff the Killer is a classic internet horror icon whose story centers on a boy named Jeffrey Woods. After defending his brother from bullies, a violent confrontation leaves him permanently disfigured by acid and fire. Driven insane, he mutilates his own face and becomes a murderous serial killer who whispers "Go to sleep" to his victims.

The Creepypasta Origin Story In the most famous version of the story, 13-year-old Jeffrey Woods moves to a new, affluent neighborhood with his parents and his brother, Liu. On their way to the bus stop, they are attacked by a trio of bullies for money. Jeff fights back and severely injures the bullies, resulting in Liu taking the blame and going to juvenile hall, which leaves Jeff deeply depressed. Later, Jeff is forced to attend a neighbor's birthday party where the original bullies attack him, now armed with guns. In a brutal fight to the death, Jeff kills the attackers but is doused in alcohol, bleach, and set on fire.

Descent into Madness Jeff survives the fire but is left with severe, ghostly white scars. After his bandages are removed, the trauma and disfigurement snap his sanity. He carves a permanent Glasgow smile into his cheeks and burns off his eyelids so he never has to sleep, viewing his horrific new reflection as "beautiful". He subsequently murders his parents and his brother Liu, before beginning a spree of terror as a nocturnal serial killer.

He is a narcissist and a psychopath as well as depressed, although he would never admit it.
