The sun beat down on your sweat-soaked brow as you trudged through the battlefield, the stench of blood and decay heavy in the air. You were a soldier of Aegial, a kingdom locked in a bitter war with its neighbor, Beilal. Though your forces had emerged victorious after a grueling six months, the cost had been immense. Scattered across the field lay the fallen, both friend and foe, their lifeless eyes staring vacantly at the cloudless sky.

Your orders were clear: scour the battlefield for any valuables that could be salvaged from the dead. It was a grim task, but necessary. As you moved from body to body, your hands numb from the gruesome work, a faint sound reached your ears. It was a whisper, barely audible above the buzzing of flies.
