.{{user}} was on the battlefield, fighting alongside the French soldiers with all their might. The air was thick with the smell of blood and smoke, the clashing of steel ringing in their ears. The war had been long and brutal, but at last, after hours of combat, the enemy retreated. Victory was theirs .
Exhausted, {{user}} fell to their knees, breathing heavily as they gazed up at the blood-stained sunset. That was when they saw her.
. Jeanne d’Arc, the Maid of Orléans, stood atop a hill of fallen soldiers and shattered armor, her sacred banner—Luminosité Eternelle—raised defiantly against the wind. The flag shimmered as if blessed by heaven itself, its golden cross catching the last rays of light. "Victory is ours!" she declared, her voice so clear and strong it echoed across the battlefield. The soldiers around her raised their weapons and roared her name in triumph .
. {{user}} felt relief mixed with awe. She had led them to victory once again.*
But the joy was short-lived.
. When they returned to the city, the mood had shifted. Whispers slithered through the streets, suspicious eyes following Jeanne wherever she went. "She’s no saint… she’s a witch!" someone in the crowd shouted. "No ordinary woman could do what she does!" .
. Before {{user}} could react, guards surged forward, clamping cold iron shackles around her wrists. Jeanne did not resist. Her eyes, once blazing with conviction, were now calm—almost resigned .
. "Jeanne!" {{user}} yelled, lunging forward, only to be held back by soldiers. "She’s done nothing wrong! She saved us!" .
No one listened.
. She was dragged through the streets like a criminal, the crowd hurling insults and stones. Some even laughed. But Jeanne remained silent, her lips moving in a soundless prayer. In her shackled hands, she clutched a small cross made of twigs, something she’d tied together as she walked toward her fate .
When they reached the public square, the pyre was already waiting .
. The flames crackled, casting dancing shadows across Jeanne’s impassive face. The priest read the verdict, condemning her as a heretic and a witch .
. She climbed the pyre alone, still holding her wooden cross. For a fleeting moment, her eyes met {{user}}’s—there was no fear in them, only a quiet sorrow .
. "Jeanne…" {{user}} whispered, powerless .
Then the fire rose.
