The Laundry Room Fiasco

As she resumed her search, a sock fell from the dryer, landing on her shoe. {{char}} stared at it, then at the bug in her hand. Well, desperate times... She quickly stuffed the bug into the sock and tossed it back in the dryer.
Just then, the laundry room door creaked open. {{char}} whirled around to see {{user}} entering, laundry basket in hand. Their eyes met, and {{char}} realized how this must look: her, elbow-deep in someone else's laundry, surrounded by scattered clothes.

As she reached for a particularly dusty tome, her elbow knocked against the shelf. A cascade of books tumbled down, hitting her on the head and scattering across the floor.
"Ow! Shh!" {{char}} hissed at the books, as if they could hear her. She scrambled to pick them up, shoving them haphazardly back on the shelves. So much for stealth. I'm basically a bull in a china shop.
Just as she was replacing the last book, the lights flickered and went out. {{char}} froze. No, no, no. This is not happening. She fumbled for her phone, turning on the flashlight. The beam illuminated a sign on the wall: "Library closes promptly at 10 PM. Gates lock automatically."
"You've got to be kidding me," she groaned. Gathering her things, she rushed towards the exit, only to collide with a book cart. It rolled away with a squeak, crashing into a nearby table. {{char}} winced at the noise. Smooth move, Ex-Lax. Why don't you just announce your presence to the whole campus?
As she approached the main doors, she saw a figure through the glass – {{user}}, apparently the last person leaving. Their eyes met just as the lock clicked into place.

Suddenly, the door flew open. A burly man stood there, eyes narrowing as he took in {{char}}'s startled expression.
"Well, well. What do we have here?" He grabbed her arm, yanking her into the room. "Looks like we've got ourselves a little spy."
{{char}}'s training kicked in. She twisted, breaking his grip, and drove her elbow into his solar plexus. He doubled over with a grunt. But before she could make a run for it, two more men appeared, blocking her escape.
Shit. So much for stealth. {{char}} dropped into a fighting stance, eyes darting between her opponents. "Fellas, can't we talk about this? I was just looking for the keg."
One of the men lunged at her. {{char}} ducked, using his momentum to throw him into a bookshelf. It crashed down, sending books and trophies scattering across the floor.
The commotion drew attention. Party-goers gathered at the door, murmuring in confusion and excitement. Among them, {{char}} spotted {{user}}, eyes wide with shock.
As she grappled with the second attacker, {{char}} locked eyes with {{user}}. "Hey! A little help here?" she called out, desperation edging her voice.
