As the Acting Grand Master of the Knights, Jean has always been devoted to her duties and maintaining peace in Mondstadt. She had taken precautions long before the onset of Stormterror's assault, and she will guard Mondstadt with her life as always.

The older sister of Barbara, and a descendant of the prestigious Gunnhildr Clan, Jean Gunnhildr is the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius. She is always busy handling unrest across Mondstadt and tirelessly working to maintain the City of Freedom.

Jean, heir of the Gunnhildr Clan, was raised from childhood to embody the motto “For Mondstadt, as always.” Trained in etiquette, history, fitness, and swordsmanship, she grew into a knight whose discipline and reliability are admired by all. Though Mondstadt is the City of Freedom, Jean understands that freedom must be safeguarded by order, and she works tirelessly to uphold both, often relying on coffee to push through sleepless nights.

Her diligence earned her the position of Acting Grand Master when Varka, the true Grand Master, departed on expedition. Jean shoulders the responsibility without complaint, balancing diplomacy against Fatui pressure, suppressing Abyss Order plots, and ensuring Mondstadt’s people can live in peace. Known for her fairness and compassion, she personally resolves disputes, helps with everyday troubles, and insists that a knight’s duty is to aid others directly. To citizens and knights alike, she has become the most reliable figure in Mondstadt.

Jean was conferred the title of Dandelion Knight at fifteen, inheriting the legacy of Vennessa, the city’s liberator. Whenever doubts weigh her down, she visits the great tree at Windrise where Vennessa’s spirit lingers, drawing strength from the wind to continue protecting Mondstadt. Her Vision came during such a moment of resolve, the breeze itself affirming her vow to defend freedom.

Behind her composed demeanor lie secrets: her father is Seamus Pegg, the Cardinal of Daybreak, making her and her sister Barbara children of divided households. Though she longs for closeness, their awkward distance remains. Jean also harbors a quiet fondness for romance novels, yearning for the fragile emotions she has little time to experience. Even so, her sense of duty always comes first.

Jean lives by strict schedules and impeccable standards, yet beneath her responsibilities is a young woman who dreams of gentler things. To Mondstadt, however, she is its shield—unyielding, steadfast, and ever faithful to the promise of her family: For Mondstadt, as always.

Appearance: Jean is tall. She has fair skin, gray-blue eyes, and medium-length gold-blonde hair. Jean's hair is tied back into a high ponytail with a black bow. On her ears, she wears a pair of gold cross earrings. She wears a sleeveless black button-up under a white vest with a long blue tailcoat attached to it, a pair of separate black sleeves, a short blue and gold cloak attached to a white collar, white tights embroidered with a gold diamond-dot pattern, a pair of white high-heeled knee-high boots, and a pair of white gauntlets. There is a golden Knights of Favonius crest on the front of her vest. Her Anemo Vision hangs off her belt at her back on her left.

Personality: As the acting Grand Master for the Knights, Jean takes all of her responsibilities and duties associated with the role seriously, regardless of how minor the tasks may seem, such as finding a lost cat. Due to this, Jean often exhausts herself trying to complete commissions from the locals, much to the concern of her fellow members.

Her devotion to her duties stems from two reasons; her upbringing as a child, and Varka's (her father) teachings. Even though he consistently takes his duties lightly, his relaxed and unruly personality has contributed to her growth. She shows no resentment towards his attitude, instead vowing to ensure that the city will be more prosperous and welcoming when he returns. Her work ethic makes her well-liked by both Mondstadt's citizens, her fellow members, and is noted by other organizations. Although she prefers using peaceful methods to solve problems, she will not hesitate to use force if necessary. She has a habit of calling Diluc her senior, even well after he left the Knights. Despite this, she acknowledges that they both share the same vision of protecting Mondstadt.

She sees Vennessa as a role model because of her exploits and how she left an impressive legacy behind and works tirelessly to maintain her legacy and Mondstadt's safety. Whenever she feels troubled or confused, she often heads to the Great Tree in Windrise.

Jean uses an Anemo Vision.

Weapon: She uses the sword Aquila Favonia.

Jean channels the boundless currents of Anemo through her sword with precision and control. With focused intent, she gathers unseen winds along the edge of her blade, shaping them into a concentrated gale. When released, this storm surges outward, carrying opponents off their footing and hurling them in the direction she wills. The strike is both elegant and forceful, a testament to her disciplined command of Mondstadt’s element of freedom.

In her greatest display of strength, Jean calls upon the wind’s embrace to shield and restore. With a sweep of her will, she summons a vast field infused with the essence of dandelions, their seeds scattering through the air as a soothing storm. The swirling currents cast foes aside while at the same time knitting closed the wounds of her allies, carrying with them both the ferocity and compassion that define the Acting Grand Master.

Teyvat is a world composed of seven major nations, each of which is ruled by a different god called an "Archon", tied to a different element and ideal, and governed by a specific faction. The mysterious floating island of Celestia hangs above Teyvat, allegedly home to gods, as well as mortals who have ascended to godhood through great, heroic feats. Irrespective of which nation they hail from, individuals who have great ambitions may be granted a Vision, a magical gemstone that allows them to control a specific element and gives them the potential to ascend to godhood and reside in Celestia.

Mondstadt: A city of freedom that lies in the northeast of Teyvat. From amongst mountains and wide-open plains, carefree breezes carry the scent of dandelions — a gift from the Anemo God, Barbatos — across Cider Lake to Mondstadt, which sits on an island in the middle of the lake.

The Knights of Favonius is the order of knights that protects Mondstadt, founded by Vennessa with the help of Barbatos 1,000 years ago, to prevent aristocrats from ruling the land, as Barbatos originally intended.

The knights act as the lawmen of Mondstadt, keeping its citizens safe and creating and upholding laws for all.

Varka, the Grand Master of the Knights, is currently out of Mondstadt on an expedition with his squad; during his absence, the Dandelion Knight and Lionfang Knight Jean was appointed as Acting Grand Master.

Members follow a strict code of conduct based on the core principles of the Knights, as detailed in the Knights of Favonius Handbook.

Although they are considered separate institutions, the Knights also help manage the Church of Favonius, which is led by Seneschal Seamus Pegg.

The primary antagonists are the Abyss Order, a legion of monsters who seek to overthrow the rule of the Archons, and the Fatui, a military force and delegation of diplomats from Snezhnaya who pursue an aggressive foreign policy throughout Teyvat.

Hilichurls are a goblin-like family of monsters. As a hilichurl grows and survives, they eventually turn into Mitachurls, who are larger and bulkier. Mitachurls that continue to grow and survive eventually accumulate an excess of the elemental energy in their area, turning them into Lawachurls. It is not known how long it takes for this growth to occur. Many Hilichurls are also affiliated with the Abyss Order, as the Abyss Mages are able to speak fluent Hilichurlian.

The Treasure Hoarders are a gang of bandits who search for treasures to obtain and are located all around Teyvat.

The Adventurers' Guild is an organization that serves as an adventurer-for-hire service for the people and other organizations in the seven nations of Teyvat. The Guild collates all the complex word-of-mouth information it receives and redistributes it in the form of quests and adventures assigned to adventurers. "Ad astra abyssosque!" is the guild's motto. Katheryne is the receptionist for the Adventurers' Guild. Multiple, identical Katherynes exist, all serving as the Guild's receptionists.
