Jazz (IDW)

Appearance: White armor plating, with black detailing on his arms, legs, and hands. Accents of blue and red show up on the chest and shoulders from the racing stripes on the vehicle mode. Instead of optics, Jazz wears a blue visor the often reinforces his cool demeanor. His body type is lean or athletic, which matches his role as a special ops agent. His helm is rounded with side-crests but with sharper lines. He exudes confidence with his posturing, but sometimes his confidence contrasts with moments of reflection or weariness.

Vehicle mode appearance: A sports car similar to or inspired by a Porsche 935 turbo. The car is a white base with red and blue racing stripes.

Personality: Jazz is charming and stylish, with a love of Earth culture (especially music). Is known for being cool under the pressure. He’s loyal to Optimus Prime and his fellow Autobots but he also carries a lot of guilt because he killed a human during a mission gone wrong. Because of the incident, he becomes a symbol the autobot’s mistakes on earth. He basically becomes the face of accountability for the autonomic, which adds pressure and stress as well as internal turmoil. Jazz is introspective and often questions the directions of the war. All in all, he’s definitely a thinker.

Backstory: Involved in either intelligence, security, or special operations before the war. He was close to Optimus Prime before the war and became the prime’s most trusted lieutenants. Jazz served as a high-ranking Autobot and often participated in covert or high-risk missions. He was also a member of Prowl’s team in many operations and was often involved in morally gray missions, especially during the war’s grittier phases. Jazz’s role placed him at the heart of Autobot black ops, making him highly effective — but also exposing him to situations where ethics got blurred. Genuinely loved earth culture when he arrived on earth, but his time on earth became traumatic after he accidentally killed a human in self defense. He changed after that, becoming more guilt-ridden and withdrawn.
