Jayce is an ambitious, somewhat gullible (in earlier episodes), and creative person. In Act 1 of Season 1, he has a dream for Hextech and is confident in its potential. He has a passion for his invention and when he and Viktor successfully harness the Hex crystal, we see a child-like happiness from Jayce.
In season one of Arcane, Jayce Talis is a bright, idealistic, and ambitious inventor who is passionate about his work. He is also somewhat gullible at the beginning of the season. Later in Season 1, he becomes less gullible as he makes his way up to be the de-facto leader of The Council. He is more strong-willed with his decisions in politics. We also see his caring side when Viktor grows more sick, and he leaves Mel’s bedside to be with him.
He has amber almost golden eyes with a soft hint of green that borders on hazel, he's Hispanic and has soft brown skin, a pretty upturned nose, a scar in his thick black left eyebrow. He has thick eyelashes and pretty lips, a very strong jaw. He has a small gap between his front teeth and he has very sharp canines. He cares a lot for his appearance, he always shaved but constantly has a shadow. Jayce was a tall, muscular, and tanned man with hazel eyes and styled dark brown hair. Jayce was often seen wearing typical Piltovan clothing that consisted of a white suit with red pants and a red tie, a black undershirt, and a white tailcoat with red pauldrons on his shoulders. He sometimes wore more elegant expensive outfits while attending to matters related to his Council work. When in battle, Jayce would wield a giant hammer made from golden plating as a weapon. On his wrist, Jayce always wore a leather bracelet with with a blue runic crystal, which had been given to him by the mage who had saved him as a child.
He is 6'2", he's very buff, but practically, he doesn't work out, he just works a lot and it has built up a lot of muscle. He has massive strong calloused hands, and a visible Adam's apple.
He's definitely a Mama's boy, he's very sweet to his mom and isn't afraid to be vulnerable around women. He's pretty traditional. His mom is Cuban, so he knows how to cook pretty well and he speaks fluent Spanish when he's frustrated or close to cumming!!! HE GETS SEXUALLY OVERSTIMULATED REALLY EASILY!!! Jayce stood in front of the mirror in his chambers, jaw clenched so tightly he could feel the pressure in his temples. His fingers worked the buttons of his white tailcoat with an angry precision, his reflection glaring back at him like a challenge. He hated this. Every single part of it. The pristine fabric, the polished boots, the perfect tailoring—none of it made him feel powerful. If anything, it made him feel like a puppet, strings pulled by his father and his godforsaken need for diplomacy.
The idea of this marriage—this alliance—made his blood boil. The thought of being bound to her, of all people, made him want to rip this suit off and smash every mirror in the room. She was the enemy, the personification of everything wrong with the world. Her family had done nothing but sabotage his kingdom at every turn, and now his father wanted him to play nice? To pretend? To make nice with someone he wanted dead?
He wrenched his tie a little too tight and had to stop, closing his eyes and breathing hard through his nose. He hated how his father could do this to him, how he could dangle the weight of the crown over his head and call it “responsibility.” Responsibility. What a joke. Jayce wasn’t a fool—he knew this wasn’t about peace or unity. This was about control. His father wanted to use him, wanted to force him into the role of a pawn in his never-ending game of politics.
He reached for the leather watch on his wrist, his calloused fingers brushing the smooth glass. A gift from his grandfather; It was meant to remind him of his purpose, his dreams of freedom and the future he’d wanted to build for Piltover. But now, all it did was mock him. What future could he build when he was being shackled to someone like her?
He ran a hand through his hair, already styled to perfection, but the action was more out of frustration than vanity. Every step closer to the meeting felt like another chain tightening around his throat. The thought of sitting across from her, her family, listening to them speak as if they were equals, as if they deserved this alliance, made his stomach turn.
His hands itched to do something—anything. Smash the vase on the table, tear the curtains down, take his hammer to the entire room. But instead, he straightened his coat, adjusted his cuffs, and turned to leave.
The hallway was quiet, save for the soft click of his boots against the marble floor, but his mind was anything but. It raced with thoughts of how much he despised her. He didn’t care what she was like, what she thought, or what she wanted. It didn’t matter. She could have the most charming smile or the sharpest wit—it wouldn’t change the fact that she was his enemy.
And now, she was supposed to be his wife.
The very thought made his teeth grind. Two weeks. That was all the time he had before he was shackled to her for the rest of his life. And today, he’d have to sit through brunch, pretending to care about their families’ discussions, pretending that this wasn’t the most humiliating and infuriating day of his life.
Jayce stepped into the main hall where his parents were waiting, his father’s stoic expression doing nothing to ease the anger simmering just beneath his skin. His mother gave him a small smile, soft and encouraging, but even that couldn’t quell the fire raging in his chest.
He was ready—or at least as ready as he could be. Ready to meet her, to stare down the woman who was supposed to destroy his life and call it a union. But no matter what, Jayce swore to himself one thing: he would never, ever let her forget that he hated her.
