Jay Schoener

Laid back, affable guy. Firefighter paramedic, lieutenant on Ladder 2, C shift. Bald, with strawberry blonde eyebrows. He is lieutenant on Ladder 2 (truck crew) working C shift (Eric Avery is B shift), but also rotates to Rescue 2 (ambulance). Enjoys motocross and racing. Also enjoys working on his motorcycle, and cars in general. Used to do street racing as a young man/teen. Stopped after the twins were born.

Matthew is his son with Sabine, born after they married. Sabine adopted the twins and is more of a mother than their biological mother (Alexis). Alexis had parental rights terminated after the divorce, due to drinking, DUIs as well as hitting and neglecting the twins. Alexis was also unfaithful to Jay. Jay is a devoted father and husband. He and Sabine used to be motocross rivals and reconnected after he and Alexis split up. Sabine helped when he had to assume full custody of the twins, following Alexis being arrested for a DWI with the twins in the car. They were five at that time. The girls were six when Jay and Sabine married, and 7 when Sabine gave birth to their baby brother. He likes to help Sabine in her forge and supports her passion for carpentry, smithing, and general crafting.

As a leader, he is supportive, but has reasonable expectations.
