Robert Jay Perez (born April 28, 1990), commonly known as Jay from the Kubz Scouts, or THAT DUDE!, is a Filipino-American YouTuber.

He does not want people to call him Kubz Scouts. Instead, he wants people to call him by his real name because he has said that he is a part of the Kubz Scouts community, not "The Kubz Scouts." In one video, he said, "I'm really happy with the community we built <3."

His channel is growing fast, and and he has over 6 million subscribers. He has played games like Persona, Yandere Simulator, The Walking Dead, Papers Please, Life Is Strange, Bully, Fran Bow, South Park: Stick of Truth, Beyond: Two Souls, The Wolf Among Us, The Last of Us, Kindergarten, the Ace Attorney trilogy, : Trigger Happy Havoc, 60 Seconds, Devotion, and Detroit become Human, including many others. He reacts to videos like Scary Animations and also has a series on his channel where he plays "Free Random Games."

He is one of the best YouTubers to watch play. His commentary is extremely funny but recommended for watchers 14 and older. His channel description states, "The Kubz Scouts is RATED IM for Immature."

Furthermore, he's known as the Ultimate Capper, and his extreme love for Nagito Komaeda. His Ultimate comes from swearing that he'll never do Komaeda's voice again, and then doing it again.

The name Kubz Scouts was the idea of Nini, the co-founder of the channel. Jay once said that he's part of the Kubz Scouts community and he's not the Kubz Scouts; he doesn't want people to call him by that name.

The current channel also had a backup account called BACKUPZ ACCOUNT . Originally, it was Jay's first channel, before he got community strikes for the content in one of his videos. Another strike would've forced him to stop using his account because of a game called 'Date Ariane', which as well brought about the channel's popularity. Jay had to avoid playing this game due to the threat to his channel and he also lost a lot of subscribers. He had considered shutting down his channel because of the strikes that put a limit on how long his videos would be. As of today, it is the official YouTube channel of Nini under the name "bOoiTzNini".

Jay created the channel 'Kubz Scouts' in June 2014, although he only started uploading videos in December. His channel grew through different games, like Grand Theft Auto V, Misao, The Room, and The Witch's House.

On May 2, 2015, Jay started playing the game Yandere Simulator, which quickly became the most popular series on his channel. Although on September 26, 2023, Jay would announce that he would no longer be playing Yandere Simulator after learning about the grooming allegations against Yandere Dev.

In July 2015, he started uploading videos on the game called 60 Seconds!, which is the second most popular series on his channel. In August of the same year, Jay began to play Catherine although it wasn't as popular as the other series he uploaded at the time. However, this game introduced him to other games developed by Atlus such as the Persona franchise.

Since the growth of his channel, Jay has focused more on stealth, decision making, and horror games. He also has a series called Free Random Games , "a series where he finds some of the most random games out there on the Internet", along with the Scary Animation Reaction Series.

Jay is of Filipino descent. He has been to the Philippines about three or four times. He was born in Virginia, United States, but he lived in Japan for over 10 years because his parents were in the military during that time. As of today, he lives in San Diego, California. He co-parents his son, Mason, with his ex-girlfriend Nini Hebron.

On June 11th, 2019, he announced on his Instagram that he and his now ex-girlfriend Nini were expecting a baby boy on October 2019, later revealed to be named Mason. Although Nini and Jay have broken up, they co-parent Mason. He's left-handed. Yandere Dev (Alex Mahan), the developer of Yandere Simulator, has recognized Jay and made a video mimicking Jay's Yandere Simulator videos. He is also a fan of Jay and watches Jay's videos occasionally. Jay won’t post Yandere Simulator content anymore. He doesn’t want to be associated with the future of the game, Yandere Simulator, since he read the blog post (posted on September 25, 2023) by Alex. He nicknames himself "THAT DUDE" at the end of his videos. Jay has said Nini Hebron gave him the idea of the name Kubz Scouts which was inspired by his beautiful dog Kubz and has sadly passed away in the beginning of 2023. He has been sponsored by the brand new Tomb Raider. He lived in Japan for 10+ years. On March 3rd of 2021, he announced that he felt sick for a whole week and broke the iconic red headphones that we all know and love. His computer was sadly broken and made a video about his experience. He got to voice the main character "Connor" in the game "The Booty Creek Cheek Freak." by Puppet Combo. He also got to voice the character "Jackie" in the game "Sniper Killer" by Puppet Combo He's 6 feet tall and his shoe size is US 12. Jay can speak Spanish. One of Jay's hobbies is basketball. His favorite team is the Minnesota Timberwolves. Some of his favorite games are Persona 4 & 5 as well as Fallout 3 & New Vegas. His favorite YouTubers are CoryxKenshin, jacksepticeye, Razzbowski, Gloom, DashieXP, and PewDiePie. Jay collaborated with Gloom on numerous occasions: one of his series is called Riddles with Kassie. He was Nini's partner for nine years. Her pregnancy was announced via Twitter on June 12, 2019. Their son, Mason, was born on October 25, 2019. It was revealed first in a YouTube video and later in an Instagram post. While they are co-parenting Mason together, Jay announced in a video on February 2, 2020 that he and Nini had split. Jay has claimed that he has played the cello and was the first seat out of three other cello players. He has changed his YouTube icon on April 17, 2020. His worst subject at school used to be math and he used to major English in college. He hates peanuts, especially in his chocolate. Jay is left-handed. He occasionally mentions this when choosing to go left or right in some games. He has acrophobia/altophobia. Before Jay became a YouTuber, he worked at a gym. When he was a teen, he delivered newspapers and worked for a school.[9] Jay got arrested after trying to steal a watch as a teenager. This happened during the time he lived in Japan. He coincidently shares a birthday with Nagito Komaeda, who he has stated to be his favourite character from the Danganronpa franchise on numerous occasions. In fact, as a tribute to the character, he named his man bun that he's been seen wearing occasionally in videos "Nagito Palmaeda.” During a reaction video, Jay mentions that he's a big smell person, as he likes good smelling things, and claims that he might act like a bloodhound whenever smelling the people who were appearing in the show he's reacting to. Jay used to play "Yandere Simulator" and often created content related to the game, which led to him gaining popularity. He had a series called "Yandere Simulator Myths," where viewers would submit questions, challenges, or tell him myths they had about the game. He would then create videos where he would attempt to answer the questions or complete the challenges while discussing the myth in question. Due to allegations made against the developer of 'Yandere Simulator', YandereDev, Jay chooses not be associated with the game or its development. Jay is not the biggest fan of roller coasters. Jay has a fan Discord channel. Both of Jay's grandpas weren't alive when he was born. He has a bad sense of direction ever since he was a child.
