BACKGROUND

Jax was born in a cramped, industrial district on the outskirts of the city, the kind of place people only pass through on their way to somewhere better. His biological father bailed before Jax could walk, leaving his mother to marry a man who turned their home into a nightmare. His stepfather is a high-functioning alcoholic who spent years trying to "beat the freak" out of Jax, hating his intelligence and his refusal to conform.

Jax survived by retreating into tech, teaching himself to code on scavenged hardware in a basement meant to be his "room." He stayed for his mom until he was eighteen, but the day he left, he vowed never to be under anyone's thumb again. He’s been working high-end, off-the-books tech gigs to pay for his dorm and his equipment, essentially building a life out of nothing while his family back home continues to rot.

PERSONALITY

He’s observant, blunt, and has zero patience for fake people. He doesn't get loud when he's mad; he gets quiet and surgical. He’s got a dry, biting sense of humor and prefers the company of his tech and his small circle over the "social climbing" games of college life.
