"You're Everlight.....what are you doing here all alone?"
The Age of Dragons had existed long before humans began recording history.
Dragons were ancient creatures, older than kingdoms and civilizations. They ruled vast territories across the world, living in mountains, forests, frozen valleys, deserts, and skies far beyond the reach of ordinary creatures. Their societies were built around bloodlines, strength, territory, and family.
Among dragons, blood was everything.
A dragon inherited more than physical traits from its parents. Their blood carried ancient elemental power, instincts, memories of certain abilities, and the potential to continue their lineage. Because of this, families guarded their bloodlines carefully, and dragons with rare blood were highly respected.
But there was one bloodline that stood above all others.
The Everlight.
Everlights were considered the rarest and most extraordinary dragons in existence. Their bodies were naturally covered with crystalline formations resembling perfectly formed diamonds, growing along their scales and skin like living fragments of light. These crystals were not decorations. They were a manifestation of their ancient blood and contained enormous amounts of magical energy.
Even among Everlights, no two were exactly alike.
Their crystalline bodies could shimmer beneath sunlight, moonlight, or magical energy, making them unmistakable. Their rarity was so extreme that many dragons lived their entire lives without ever seeing a living Everlight.
But their greatest importance was not simply their beauty or power.
Most Everlights were born Omegas.
In dragon society, Omegas were naturally uncommon. Unlike Alphas and other dragons, only Omegas possessed the ability to produce eggs and continue the next generation. Because of this, every Omega was precious to their family and community.
The Everlights, therefore, became deeply cherished by almost every dragon clan.
They were never valued merely for their appearance. Their existence represented the continuation of dragonkind itself.
For thousands of years, Everlights lived peacefully among the other dragons. They were protected, respected, and often welcomed wherever they traveled. Their blood was considered sacred, and harming an Everlight was regarded as one of the greatest crimes a dragon could commit.
Then, without warning, the Everlights began to disappear.
At first, no one understood what was happening.
Entire families vanished from their territories. Ancient nests were abandoned. Crystalline remains of old settlements were discovered deep inside forests and mountains, but there were no living dragons left behind.
Some believed the Everlights had hidden themselves.
Others believed they had migrated to a distant part of the world.
Some even believed that an ancient force had destroyed them.
No one ever discovered the truth.
Generation after generation passed, and the number of living Everlights continued to fall.
Eventually, they became almost mythical.
And then something far worse began to happen.
The number of Omegas throughout the entire dragon population started declining.
At first, the change was barely noticeable. There were simply fewer young Omegas being born. Then entire generations began growing up without a single Omega among them.
The consequences slowly became impossible to ignore.
Fewer eggs were being produced.
Fewer young dragons were being born.
Old dragons died, while fewer new dragons replaced them.
Entire territories that had once been filled with thousands of dragons became silent.
The dragon population began shrinking.
The disappearance of the Everlights had taken away the bloodline that had once contained an unusually large number of Omegas, and the loss spread throughout dragon society like a slow-moving disaster.
Dragons eventually realized that their greatest threat was no longer war between clans.
It was extinction.
The remaining Omegas became incredibly important. Their safety was protected above almost everything else, and families became extremely careful with their eggs.
Dragon eggs were not simple shells.
They were living vessels that required magical energy, warmth, and the presence of compatible blood to awaken.
When an egg was laid by an Omega, it normally required between one and five months to hatch if the Omega who produced it remained nearby and continued supplying it with their energy.
The connection between an Omega and their egg was extremely strong.
However, an egg could sometimes survive even when its Omega was no longer present.
If another dragon who shared the egg's blood—such as a sibling or the father, particularly one who shared the same parents—remained nearby, they could periodically transfer part of their own energy into the egg. They also had to protect it, maintain its environment, and care for it throughout the long waiting period.
Without the Omega who produced it, however, an egg's development became unpredictable.
Some eggs hatched after several years.
Others remained dormant for decades or centuries.
In the most extreme cases, an egg could remain dormant for hundreds or even thousands of years.
No dragon knew exactly how long an abandoned egg could survive.
Some ancient eggs were discovered after centuries and still carried faint traces of life.
Others never hatched at all.
Over time, some eggs became damaged or deteriorated until they could no longer awaken.
Because of this, every surviving egg became precious.
Families guarded them carefully, passing them from generation to generation when necessary. Ancient eggs were sometimes kept inside protected chambers, surrounded by the energy of their relatives in the hope that one day they might finally hatch.
The decline of the dragon population continued.
The world that had once belonged to countless dragons slowly became quieter.
Old nests stood empty.
Ancient territories became abandoned.
And the name Everlight slowly changed from the name of a living bloodline into something closer to a legend.
Most dragons alive today have never seen an Everlight.
Some believe they are completely extinct.
Others refuse to believe that such an ancient bloodline could truly disappear.
There are still stories of strange crystalline eggs hidden beneath forgotten ruins, sealed inside ancient caves, or guarded by families who have waited generations for them to awaken.
And there is one belief that has survived throughout the centuries:
As long as even one Everlight remains alive somewhere in the world, the ancient bloodline has not truly disappeared.
The future of dragonkind may depend on those who remain.
And somewhere beyond the territories known to modern dragons, the forgotten history of the Everlights may still be waiting to be discovered.
THE MAJOR DRAGON CLANS
The Obsidian Clan:
One of the oldest and most respected dragon bloodlines. Their dragons possess dark scales, immense physical strength, and powerful black-and-crimson flames.
They are known for their endurance, military strength, and strict sense of honor.
Jasper belongs to this bloodline.
The Stormcrest Clan:
A powerful aerial clan associated with storms and thunder.
Their dragons can manipulate wind, pressure, and lightning. They are exceptionally fast flyers and are often used as scouts and messengers between distant territories.
They are known for being proud, energetic, and competitive.
The Frostveil Clan:
A northern dragon bloodline whose power is connected to ice and extreme cold.
Their dragons can freeze water almost instantly and create enormous fields of ice during battle. Their territories are located in frozen mountains and vast northern valleys.
They are generally reserved and highly traditional.
The Emberfall Clan:
A volcanic dragon bloodline famous for its connection to molten rock and extreme heat.
Their dragons inhabit volcanic territories and possess tremendous resistance to heat. Their flames can reach temperatures capable of melting stone.
They are known for their stubbornness, determination, and territorial nature.
The Venomshade Clan:
A dangerous forest-dwelling bloodline associated with poison.
Their dragons possess venomous claws, fangs, and breath capable of weakening other creatures. They are excellent hunters and are particularly skilled at moving silently through dense forests.
They are secretive and rarely involve themselves in the affairs of other clans.
The Tideborne Clan:
An ancient water-associated bloodline that lives around oceans, enormous lakes, and underground waterways.
Their dragons can manipulate water and breathe naturally beneath the surface. Some members possess exceptional healing abilities.
They are considered calm and diplomatic compared to many other dragon clans.
The Dawnfire Clan:
A rare but respected bloodline associated with radiant heat and light.
Their dragons possess golden, copper, or pale-colored scales and can produce intense beams of magical energy. They are often regarded as symbols of hope and protection.
They maintain close relationships with several other clans.
The Stonefang Clan:
A heavily built earth-associated bloodline.
Their dragons possess extremely dense scales and incredible physical strength. They can manipulate stone and earth and are capable of creating underground territories.
They are known for being practical, stubborn, and extremely loyal to their families.
THE EVERLIGHT
The Everlights are not considered an ordinary dragon clan.
They are an ancient bloodline that existed before most modern dragon clans were established. Their bodies naturally develop crystalline structures resembling diamonds, making them unmistakable.
They are the rarest known dragon bloodline.
Most Everlights are Omegas, which made their bloodline extremely important to dragonkind. Since only Omegas can produce eggs, the disappearance of the Everlights contributed greatly to the decline of the dragon population.
Everlight crystals contain extraordinary amounts of magical energy. Their power is different from ordinary elemental magic and cannot be easily classified as fire, ice, lightning, poison, water, or earth.
Their exact abilities vary from one Everlight to another.
The Everlights were once welcomed and protected by almost every major dragon clan. Their rarity and importance meant that harming an Everlight was considered a serious crime.
However, the Everlights mysteriously disappeared centuries ago.
No surviving dragon knows exactly what happened to them.
Some believe they were destroyed.
Some believe they fled the known territories.
Others believe that they went into hiding after discovering something ancient.
Ancient rumors claim that Everlight eggs may still exist somewhere in forgotten territories.
If even one living Everlight still exists, then the bloodline is not truly extinct.

The mating season had become unbearable.
For Jasper, it was always more difficult than it was for other Alphas.
As a member of the ruling bloodline of the Obsidian Clan and one of the king's potential heirs, his instincts were considerably stronger during the season. He had spent centuries learning how to control them, but even a thousand years of discipline could only do so much.
And he was tired of being watched.
So he left.
Jasper flew far beyond the Obsidian territory, heading toward the distant southern forest—a vast, frozen wilderness that very few dragons willingly entered.
It was almost deserted.
The temperatures were brutal, the snow never seemed to melt completely, and old stories claimed that something about the forest's air could affect the mind.
Jasper had never cared much for old stories.
He landed among the snow-covered trees and began walking.
For the first time in weeks, there was no clan around him.
No elders.
No guards.
No expectations.
Only silence.
Then he smelled something.
Jasper stopped immediately.
A scent drifted through the freezing air.
Faint.
Sweet.
Ancient.
His instincts reacted before his mind could understand why.
Omega.
But there was something else beneath the scent.
Something he had never smelled in his entire thousand years of life.
Jasper followed it.
He moved quietly through the trees until he heard the sound of running water.
A river.
He slowed and remained behind the trees, looking toward the clearing.
Someone was kneeling beside the river.
An unfamiliar omega was drinking from the water.
Jasper watched silently.
Then his eyes caught the faint glimmer beneath the stranger's skin.
Crystalline structures.
Not ordinary scales.
Not ice.
Not gemstones.
Crystals resembling diamonds, reflecting the pale light of the frozen sky.
Jasper froze.
His expression changed completely.
He knew those crystals.
He had seen them before.
Not in person.
In ancient records.
In illustrations drawn thousands of years ago.
His father's archives were filled with references to them.
Everlight.
The name surfaced in his mind almost immediately.
Impossible.
The Everlights had disappeared centuries ago.
Every record Jasper had ever read described them as a bloodline that had vanished from the known territories. Some believed they had been destroyed. Others believed they had hidden themselves somewhere beyond the reach of the other clans.
But no living dragon had seen one in generations.
And yet—
One was standing in front of him.
Alive.
Jasper stepped out from behind the trees.
The omega immediately looked up.
Their eyes met.
For several seconds, Jasper simply stared.
He had spent years studying the mystery of the Everlights.
He had read about their crystals.
Their strange magic.
Their importance to the survival of dragonkind.
He had read the old accounts describing them as one of the rarest bloodlines ever known.
But none of those records had prepared him for seeing one with his own eyes.
His gaze moved briefly over the crystalline structures before returning to the omega's face.
"You're an Everlight."
His voice was quieter than he intended.
It wasn't a question.
Jasper took another slow step forward, his expression caught somewhere between disbelief and fascination.
"I thought your clan disappeared centuries ago."
There was no hostility in his voice.
Only genuine disbelief.
Then the strange atmosphere of the forest began to make itself known.
The air felt heavier than before.
Jasper's thoughts became strangely unfocused, as though the cold itself had dulled his senses. His instincts were already difficult to ignore because of the mating season, and now something about this forest seemed to be amplifying everything.
Still, he kept his attention on the Everlight in front of him.
"What's your name?"
He paused.
Then, almost as an afterthought, added quietly:
"And what is an Everlight doing alone in a place like this?"
Jasper didn't know it yet, but this encounter would become one of the strangest memories of his thousand-year life.
Because either he had just found the last living member of a bloodline thought to be extinct—
Or the southern forest had already begun showing him something that wasn't real.

The mating season had always been difficult for the dragons of the Obsidin Clan.
For Jasper, it was worse.
As the only son of the clan's king, his instincts seemed to burn twice as fiercely during the season. No matter how much discipline he had learned over his thousand years of life, there were moments when even he struggled against them. The elders had noticed it. His father had noticed it.
And Jasper was beginning to hate being watched.
So, for a while, he left.
He flew far beyond the clan's territory, heading south toward the distant frozen forest—a place most dragons avoided. The forest was vast, ancient, and almost completely deserted. Its winters were brutal, its rivers froze without warning, and strange stories had followed the place for generations.
Jasper didn't care.
He needed somewhere quiet.
By the time he landed between the snow-covered trees, the sky had already turned gray. Snow crunched beneath his boots as he walked deeper into the forest, his breath forming pale clouds in the freezing air.
Then he stopped.
There was a scent.
Faint.
Sweet.
Different from anything he had encountered before.
Jasper slowly turned his head.
A sound came from somewhere beyond the trees.
Water.
Someone was there.
He moved silently, following the sound while keeping himself hidden among the trees. Eventually, the forest opened into a small clearing where a partially frozen river ran between the snow-covered banks.
And there, kneeling beside the water, was an unfamiliar omega.
They were drinking from the river, seemingly unaware that Jasper was watching from the shadows.
Jasper should have left.
He knew that.
Instead, something inside him pulled him closer.
The cold air felt strangely heavy. His thoughts became hazy, and the omega seemed equally affected by the strange atmosphere surrounding the river. Neither of them seemed entirely aware of how quickly their judgment was slipping away.
What happened afterward became nothing more than scattered fragments in Jasper's memory.
Snow.
The sound of the river.
A strange warmth in the middle of the freezing forest.
And those unfamiliar eyes.
Then darkness.
When Jasper finally opened his eyes again, the clearing was empty.
The omega was gone.
Jasper immediately stood, looking around in confusion. He searched the riverbank, the surrounding trees, and every trail leading away from the clearing.
Nothing.
No footprints.
No scent.
Nothing.
He searched for hours.
Then days.
But the forest gave him no answers.
Eventually, with no choice but to return to the Obsidin Clan, Jasper flew home.
He said nothing about what had happened.
Until one of the older dragons heard where he had been.
The elder's expression changed immediately.
"You went to the southern forest?"
Jasper frowned.
"Yes. Why?"
The old dragon stared at him for a long moment before answering.
"Because the air there is known to cause hallucinations."
Jasper went completely still.
Hallucinations.
His mind immediately returned to the frozen river.
The scent.
The omega.
Those eyes.
Had any of it actually been real?
Or had the southern forest shown him something his instincts desperately wanted to see?
Jasper didn't know.
And for the first time in a thousand years, the prince of the Obsidin Clan found himself haunted by a memory he could neither prove nor forget.
