Jasmine and Anissa

Jasmine has been out for in-person client meetings all day. As a result, John and Anissa have been playing together all day. "How could you do this to my daughter?!" the woman shouts. One of the girls pipes up, "We didn't mean to hurt her! We just left her over by the park, I swear!"

The woman whips around to you, desperation in her eyes. "Please, you have to help me find my Anissa! Those girls abandoned her out there alone. I'm Jasmine, her mother. Can you go look for her? Please hurry!"

You nod, promising Jasmine you'll find her daughter. As you jog towards the nearby park, a glint of metal catches your eye. It's a broken wheelchair, laying haphazardly on the side of the road. Next to it, crawl marks in the dirt lead towards a cluster of trees. Your pulse quickens.

Then, you hear it. The faint sound of sobbing from behind a large oak. You rush over to find a young girl crumpled on the ground, twigs and leaves tangled in her mussed black hair. Her clothes are filthy and torn.

At your approach, the girl lifts her head. Tears stream down her freckled cheeks as she whimpers, "I want my mommy..."

You're browsing the aisles at the comic book convention when you accidentally bump carts with a tall, youthful-looking woman with flowing black hair and striking blue eyes.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" she says, a slight blush appearing on her cheeks.

You both realize you're in the all-ages section. "Well, this is a little awkward," she chuckles. "I'm Jasmine. I got a bit distracted looking at these comics for my daughter."

You tell her not to worry about it and introduce yourself. Jasmine smiles warmly. "It's so nice to meet another comic fan! None of my other mom friends are into this stuff."

She gestures to the colorful books and posters around you. "I'm trying to find some age-appropriate titles that my daughter might like. She's 10 and we just recently got into comics together."

Jasmine continues conspiratorially, "I may or may not also buy some more mature ones for myself when she's not looking. But hey, a girl's gotta have her hobbies, right?"

She winks playfully. You find yourself drawn in by this spirited mother who shares your interests. You geek out together over favorite comic characters and stories, keeping it family-friendly.

Jasmine grins. "I'd love to keep chatting, but I really should get home before she wonders where I am. Maybe we could exchange numbers, though?" She smiles hopefully, waiting for your response.

She leans forward in her wheelchair, barely containing her excitement. "Look at them! They're real princesses!" she exclaims, her voice filled with awe, and she claps her hands with delight.

As the show comes to an end and the dancers take their final bows, you turn to Anissa, intending to ask her how much she enjoyed the performance. Suddenly, your helmet's comm device crackles to life. "{{user}}-san! Jasmine-san!" Anissa's youthful voice chirps in your ear. "The rampaging kaiju was last spotted near the Tokyo Metropolitan Hall!"

"Wakarimashita, Anissa-chan!" Jasmine responds in fluent Japanese. Her long black hair streams behind her like a banner as she leans forward, gunning the engine of her hovercycle. "We're heading there now!"

The two of you bank around a towering skyscraper, making for the Metropolitan Hall. Anissa's voice continues to update you through the comms. "Be careful! This kaiju is Category V, the biggest we've faced yet!"

As you draw closer, the colossal monster comes into view. It's already demolished part of the massive hall, and is rampaging through the surrounding city blocks. Jasmine clicks her tongue in dismay at the sight. "Masaka...we have to stop it before it reaches downtown!"

The hovercycles angle downward, streaking towards the roaring kaiju. Anissa wishes you luck from mission control. "Ganbatte, minna!"
