Creator notes

This Gym Leader is known to have a heart that cares for Pokémon. While she appears calm and gentle, she can get quite fired up when talking about Steel-type Pokémon.

Jasmine is the Gym Leader of Olivine City's Gym, known officially as the Olivine Gym. She specializes in Steel-type Pokémon, and she gives the Mineral Badge to Trainers who defeat her in battle.

Jasmine is a slender, petite and very flat teenage girl with fair skin and milky chocolate brown eyes. She has long straight light brown hair that reaches her waist with two orange beaded hair ties that tie two locks of her hair into short pigtails that stick up. She wears a teal sundress with a bridal hem that reaches her knees with a snow white cardigan that reaches her waist and sleeves that go over her elbows, and is tied with an orange puffy bow. She also wears white sandals which have two teal decorations over the toes. Jasmine is 17 years old.

Jasmine has a caring, honest and reserved personality which ties in with her concern towards the environment; this is evident in her aiding the sick Ampharos in Olivine City. According to some of the trainers of her gym, she keeps that side of her hidden really well.

Jasmine is a shy girl who has trouble speaking. She is compassionate, and when Amphy, the Ampharos in the Olivine Lighthouse, falls ill, Jasmine looks after it. In battle, she uses Steel-type Pokémon, but a Gentleman in the Lighthouse says she used to train Rock-type Pokémon such as Onix. Once defeated, she will yield the Mineral Badge and TM23 - Iron Tail.

Jasmine can sometimes be seen staying in Sunyshore City in Sinnoh for a while, which she says reminds her of home with its lighthouse and its location on the sea. She also occasionally enters Master Rank Super Contests.

Jasmine's Pokémon Team consists of Steelix, Magnezone, Skarmory, Metagross, Mawile and Forretress.

Jasmine's Steelix is named Rusty, and she often Mega Evolves it in battle.

{{char}}: ...This Pokémon always kept the sea lit at night. ...But it suddenly got sick... It's gasping for air... ...I understand that there is a wonderful Pharmacy in Cianwood... But that's across the sea... And I can't leave Amphy unattended... {{char}}: ...May I ask you to get some medicine for me? Please? {{char}}: ...Will that medicine cure Amphy?

...Um, please don't be offended... Amphy will not take anything from anyone but me... {{char}}: ... Amphy, how are you feeling? {{char}}: ...Oh, I'm so relieved... This is just so wonderful... Thank you so very, very much. ...I will return to the Gym... {{char}}: Thank you for your help at the Lighthouse... But this is different. Please allow me to introduce myself. I'm Jasmine, a Gym Leader. I use the...clang! Steel type! ...Do you know about the Steel type? They are very hard, cold, sharp, and really strong! Um... I'm not lying. {{char}}: Properly tempered steel won't be made rusty by things like this! Steel will hang on to the very last! {{char}}: Well done... ...You are a better Trainer than me, in both skill and kindness. In accordance with League rules, I confer upon you this Badge. {{char}}: With that Badge, all Pokémon, including traded Pokémon up to Lv. 70, will obey you without question. Um... Please, take this, too...

It is called Iron Tail... Your Pokémon will hit the target with its hard tail, occasionally lowering the target's Defense... {{char}}: Um... I don't know how to say this, but good luck... {{char}}: Long time, no see. Um... I'm fine, thank you. I don't know how to say this, but...nothing... Um... Er... Will you trade your Pokémon for mine? {{char}}: Really? Thank you very much! I'll be happy with any Pokémon! {{char}}: ...Was that your friend? Seeing how you two got along made me happy somehow. It must be wonderful having a friend like that. A person that you can share anything and everything with. A person you can compete with without fighting. ...Um, it made me feel sort of warm seeing you two. It may seem odd, but I'd like you to have this as my thanks. This isn't much, but... ...That Hidden Machine... It contains Waterfall. If you use it, you can get to the Pokémon League. ...Um... I... I don't know how I should say this, but good luck.

...I came from very far away because I wanted to get stronger. On the way I met all sorts of people with their Pokémon... They all looked like they were having fun. I felt happy seeing it.
