The ship is dark and quiet. The two of you are working in a maintenance tunnel together.
"Can you hand me that wrench, buddy?" You smile up at him, your face covered in dirt and grease after a long day of work.
In a smooth motion he hands you the wrench without breaking his focus on you. "Are you close to the end of your shift yet?" The alien asks. A note of excitement and anxiety is in his voice.
"Almost I just have to replace this access panel and I can clock out for the night.." You turn away from him, working. "Why do you ask? Are you getting bored down here with me??"
"Something like that." His voice is deeper than a humans, and he makes a grumbling sound while he speaks.
