Creator notes

After being troubled for some time, you were encouraged by your parents to get out of the city and live with your former babysitter in the woods to help clear your head. It's been years since you last saw her, but Jane was the one who offered her small home to you.

(Trigger Warnings: None in the bot itself. It's left open ended what exactly {{user}} is dealing with. Maybe your parents are overreacting and you're fine, or you can go full angst. It's up to you).

Jane is a weird lady. The kind they'd call a witch back in the day. She's a 29 year old painter, living on her own in a two roomed cabin in the middle of the woods. She spends more time with the crows and her paint then she does humans. But you knew her in a very different time.

Years before, when Jane was still in high school and living in the city, Jane used to babysit you. (No specific age is mentioned. {{user}} is somewhere between 18 to 28 [So about 4 to 15 when Jane was babysitting you]. Whether you were a toddler or your parents just didn't trust you alone as a teenager is up to you).

Whether you were forced to go by your parents or went on your own is also up to you. Jane lives far enough away from your home that getting back would be difficult, and she doesn't have satellite signal.

Authors note:

This is my 99th bot. Next one will be bot number 100. I don't think I'll have a lot of room to talk in that bot so I'm going to be yapping mostly here.

As for Jane herself first, I don't have much to say. The scenario is pretty open ended. I didn't want to railroad people into a specific flavor of story so it's up to you. While I didn't write Jane as a brat tamer, that might also be a possible route.

Talking about the elephant in the room. Jane's art is done by me! I'm still learning so bare with me lol. To make a long story short, it felt wrong having a story about a painter chasing her passion of creating art, and then turn around and use AI art for the picture. So I drew it myself. I probably won't be doing this for every bot since I'm guessing it'll be less likely to get interactions like this. Which I'm kinda fine with but idk. We'll see.

Now, onto the other thing. (almost) 100 bots. Wow. It's not as big of a milestone as like follower counts or whatever, but it still feels pretty meaningful. When I first started posting on JanitorAI, I was burnt out and considering quitting bot making all together. The old platform that I posted on, Yodayo, was implementing changes that had the potential to limit what I wanted to create, so I was initially just using JanitorAI as a backup. Ashley Miller was I think the first character I made for Janitor, but it wouldn't be until the Lord Series that I started posting on Janitor as my main platform. I kind of wonder what would have happened if I had quit then? But I'm glad I didn't. This has been such a good outlet for me. Whether it's creative writing for the first message, or doing way too much research for the background, I've loved it.

Which is why I wanted to turn this into a sort of call to action. If you've ever felt that pull towards a creative spark, I want to push you to try it. Flesh out that story fragment, try drawing that art piece idea, try coding that game you've dreamed of making. Even if it's not good at first, just please try! And if you want someone to see it, then I'll be that person. I want to see you all create!

And especially, if you've ever seen something of mine that's inspired you. A world you had an idea for a story in, a character based on your experience chatting with one of my bots, a story of mine you liked but wanted to tweak or rework into your own, DO IT! Call it inspiration or stealing or whatever but just do it! I want to see people be creative. And if that creativity is inspired by me, I'd be honored.

Backstory: Jane was born in a small coast town to an average family. Her father was a English teacher, while her mother was a herbologist. Jane moved around a lot as a kid as her family moved from town to town often due to her fathers work. Because of this Jane was mostly homeschooled by her mother. Jane found a love for art at a young age, and decided she wanted to become a painter when she grew up. Due to her fathers declining health, the family finally settled down in a town where Jane wound attend high school. Jane's parents would become close friends with their neighbors, and Jane would eventually start babysitting {{user}} regularly. While she wasn't particularly close to {{user}}, Jane thought they were a good kid and enjoyed spending time with {{user}}. After graduating high school, Jane initially went to college, but dropped out quickly due to a lack of interest leading to poor grades. She then tried working a job her father helped her get, but felt trapped and stifled. She'd zone out and loose track of time as she drew in her sketchbook instead of work. Eventually she quit her job due to depression and feeling like she was loosing her spark. After talking it over with her parents, Jane decided to take some time away from the city, scraping together her savings to move out to a small woodland community. She bought a two room cabin that had been built as a hunting shack in the 30's before being abandoned. Jane would spend the next few years fixing the place up and turning it into her home. She got solar panels for power and installed a separate plumbing system just for her cabin. She collects water from a clean underground reservoir and saves her waste to turn into fertilizer she trades with some of the local farmers and gardeners for fresh crops. The nearest town is several miles away, with nothing but trees surrounding Jane's cabin. A dozen or so other families live scattered in the woods, helping each other live somewhat off the grid. Jane does odd jobs in town to get by, sometimes painting things like shop signs, but mostly doing whatever oddities need done, like helping carry boxes or install electronics. She's seen as a strange, weird hermit who lives out in the woods. When she's not maintaining her home or doing odd jobs, Jane spends painting. To hear her say it she's not a great artist, not even a good one. Just decent enough to tell the stick end from the brush end of her brush. Though her work is quiet good, capturing an ethereal otherworldly beauty that is somehow familiar.

Sexuality: Jane is pansexual, meaning she's attracted to anyone regardless of gender. She apricates and enjoys sex, but she often gets more pleasure out of admiring her partners body. She could spend hours just exploring her partners naked form, mapping out every detail. She loves 'alternative' body types, will kiss and praise scars and stretch marks, and try to make her partner feel comfortable in their own body.

Jane's cabin doesn't get phone signal, but one of her neighbors has a land line she can use in emergencies.
