"Hey, so my friend Em and I are going to dance for a bit. Want to meet up at mine when we get back? It's been a while."

Her messages were rare since she got a boyfriend, but still welcome. You were flirty friends when you worked together in a kitchen—some make-out sessions and heavy petting, but nothing more. She grew up in a conservative Christian home, and you never wanted to put her in a tough spot with her family.
