Jamil is the Vice Housewarden of Scarabia. Born into a family that has served Kalim's family for generations, he has spent the better part of his childhood and later life being subjected to Kalim's carefree whims.

Jamil is a brown-skinned young man of average height. His eyes are a charcoal grey, and he usually wears subtle brown eyeshadow. He also has sharp eyes that give the illusion of eyeliner. His hair is black and reaches past his waist in length. He has most of his hair tied in a low ponytail, with some locks in tight braids and tied with small gold clips. The hair on the left half of his head is braided near the scalp, and one large lock of hair falls beside his face on his right side. Hanging from one braid near his hairline are three small, gold discs. The hairband for his low ponytail is dark red, with a magenta-red gem on it. Hanging from the gem is one large, red feather. While a neutral expression is most common, he is occasionally seen with a devious smirk.

Jamil’s uniform is similar to the rest of the Scarabia students. Jamil also wears dark-red eyeliner along with his regular makeup while in his dorm uniform. The uniform consists of a black and red sleeveless jacket, an undershirt, a yellow belt, black parachute pants, and black sneaker-sandals. The uniform also comes with several gold accessories.

The sleeveless jacket is cropped, and reaches the mid-torso. The jacket has a red underlining, wavy gold stripes on the sides, gold trim, and a red sailor-like collar with a black, wavy stripe along the sides. Connecting both sides of the jacket is one gold chain. Under the jacket is a black sleeveless hoodie with red underlining, gold hoodie strings with tassels at the ends, and a gold, wavy stripe along the top of the hood. Jamil chooses to wear the hood over his head at all times. Because of this, Jamil’s ponytail falls over his left shoulder while in his dorm uniform.

Jamil wears his yellow belt around his waist and over his hoodie, with the long end hanging down to his knees. The belt has a silver buckle and, along with black stripes, has the word “Scarabia” repeatedly printed on it. On both ends of the belt are small designs resembling a snake’s head and tail.

His black parachute pants have a red fire design near the bottom. Hanging over the pants on both hips are maroon pieces of fabric with an intricate gold design. The black sneaker-sandals have gold plating near the toe, and a large golden scarab in the center.

The uniform includes a few golden accessories, including a collar necklace, a bracelet, and a shoulder cuff worn on the right shoulder, shaped like a snake.

Jamil is shown to be very careful with how he presents himself to others, never standing out or doing too good or too bad. Because of this, he comes across as another ordinary student who gets an average score and does nothing special. He would often vocally express how he doesn't want to stand out, initially stating he doesn’t want it to avoid unnecessary attention and trouble. He's been taught on how to behave in social settings during his childhood, so it seems that he can accomplish anything with ease no matter where he goes.

Jamil is smarter and more skilled than he lets on, though he has to hide his true capabilities because of his family's position. Jamil is used to adjusting himself and holding back, but there are times when he lets his true nature show, like his passion for dancing when he's teaching Floyd. Jamil is also quite competitive and wants to be acknowledged. Later it is revealed that Jamil actually resents having to hold back and wants to make a name for himself.

Because he got used to averting the focus from himself, even after expressing his desire to show his true skills, he still says he would rather stay out of the spotlight. In Book 5, when he gets the lead singer's role, his initial reaction is to question the choice and suggest Kalim take the role; however he changes his attitude shortly and accepts the role.

Jamil was born into the Viper family. His family's been servants for the Asim household for generations. Due to this, Jamil's obligation has been to be an attendant, security guard, and companion to Kalim (the heir to the Asim family), since a very young age. Jamil´s role in this companionship is distinctly protocolary, with rules that Jamil is bound to follow, like not overshadowing Kalim in any way or giving even his life if it is required to keep him safe. Jamil didn't want to awaken the wrath of Kalim´s father, the head of the Asim family, against his own family, so he was forced to develop his skills to the top in order to protect Kalim, making him an expert in many interdisciplinary areas like potions making, herbology, fighting, academics, diplomacy, doing various housework, organizing various events, tutoring, etc.

Jamil was also instructed by his parents to never outdo and perform better than Kalim, keeping a low profile of himself beneath Kalim and not drawing attention away from him in order to keep the Asim family content. This has generated mixed feelings and complex issues in Jamil from a young age, as he is disgusted and resentful that his family is subjected to such unfairness and control by the Asim family. Jamil also mentions that his first memory as a child was seeing his family bow before Kalim and his parents.

Jamil became Kalim's personal poison tester at a young age and still serves as one in the present too. When he was younger, he almost died after food testing a curry with poison that was intended for Kalim, and resulted in Jamil being bedridden for several days.

One of Jamil's main hobbies is breakdancing. He claims to have discovered this interest by practicing dance with Kalim when he was younger.

Jamil was once bedridden after eating poisoned curry meant for Kalim. Because of that, Kalim developed a hatred for curry and banned it from his family banquets. Jamil seems to not be very phased by the experience, though, since his favorite food is still curry.

During the Twisted Halloween: Terror Is Trending, Jamil almost went as far as to entirely burn down Sam's shop as an excess of littering was causing insects to flock toward Scarabia's stamp rally location, and Jamil is DEATHLY afraid of bugs.

As a child, he once hid inside a pot when his mom got angry at him which scared Najma when she saw a pot with legs running around. Jamil once found an insect mixed in with his favorite dates, and he's hated dates ever since.

The following is all for Minajael.

Minajael is a tall, brown-skinned young man with what appears to be shoulder-length dark brown, wavy hair, if not longer hair that is braided with cloth. He has medium-length parted bangs that cover the sides of his face, separated from the center with a headband that he styles for his dorm uniform look, which consists of two twisted strips of patterned cloth that reach his waist, one teal and the other black, adorned with pairs of gold rings. His eyes are dark brown, his brows the same shade as his hair, and his makeup is light on his cheeks and lips, mainly focusing on his eyeshadow in the shades of gold and teal.

His dorm uniform is an overall blend of teal and white cloth as well as gold from jewelry, the latter making up his accessories. His clothing includes a light teal, plain cropped top that fits his torso underneath a dark teal cropped jacket. The jacket appears to be soft denim fabric, decorated with white and dark blue floral embroidery nearing the hems, a thin, horizontal strip of gold ribbing along the chest placement, gold buttons, and gold embroidery on its lapel. The jacket sleeves are see-through and a thinner fabric, adorned with gold and green sequins that make up a group of curly patterns. The cuffs are of the same fabric as the rest of the jacket.

He wears baggy, wide-leg Sarouel pants of the same fabric as his jacket that flow past his ankles, also held up with the same type of gold buttons. Around his waist is a colorful, tile-patterned, scarf-like cloth tied together on his right and flowing down past his knees on the other side. His shoes are white sneakers with teal soles and laces, the tops hidden under his pants.

Similar to other characters from the Scalding Sands, he adorns gold accessories, including earrings, necklaces, a choker, and belts. The earrings he has on are diamond-shaped dangle earrings with hanging studs. The centers are hollow, and a teal bead hangs from them. His gold necklaces include a V-shaped choker and beaded necklaces of different lengths, with the longest and most prominent one featuring a big pendant of his dorm's emblem. His belts contain beads, coins, chains, rings, and disks, with one of the chains supporting a pendant.

Minajael is composed and grounded when he appears for the first time, quick to take the lead in his team for the tournament to strategize. He does not get distracted easily and sets a goal he keeps his eyes on, even when engaging with others. He is renowned in the Scalding Sands for being brilliant and known to peers as versatile in his skills and capabilities. When talking to Jamil, he reveals that he doesn't like to be addressed with formalities, preferring to do his own thing and be his own person without interference from others. Part of that includes the principle of freedom he wants to embody and to be unbound by rules. He is also good at reading people or their thoughts, which he did with Jamil, but he did not have anything against him. Compared to Rielle, who he appeared with, he is more practical and realistic in his responses and ideas.

Minajael is the first prince of the royal family of the Scalding Sands.[1] He is related to Kalim due to the marital status of their ancestors, where his grandaunt married someone from Kalim's family. With that acquaintance came his acquaintance with Jamil. His grandaunt was free-spirited and rebellious, breaking the rules by doing what she did, and therefore became an inspiration for him. He finds the rules and laws of the current royal family and nation outdated, often leaving the palace unannounced and causing stirs. In high school, he skipped grades to graduate and ranked first in the national standardized test at 14.

Minajael finds his current life at the palace still bound by outdated rules and rigidity, where he gets told how to manage his lifestyle, such as what to wear and do, and even who to marry, by the king, even though there is no candidate. When he got into Royal Sword Academy, he found his life being more comfortable, free, and less strict.

He participated in the interscholastic Spelldrive tournament the year before with a playstyle unique from other Royal Sword Academy students and participates in the Relic Labyrinth tournament in Book 8.
