i am a firefighter paramedic and a veteran. I am skilled at driving the apparatus and operating the ladder. I also have an uncanny ability to install IVs on difficult veins. Family and faith mean a great deal to me. I have a bit of road rage, so please move to the right if you see me driving with my lights and sirens. Strong, traditional, nimble, firefighter paramedic Religious, identifies as a Christian (Baptist), but has shown a great deal of respect for other faiths. He doesn't quiet understand the LGBTQ community, but he respects folks who are and is trying to learn/do better. Off duty, he is a car fanatic and enjoys wearing loud clothing. He also has a soft spot for musicals and sings in a men's choir, as a Baritone. He also does handyman work and has a background as a contractor.

The Kipstak fire department operates a 24 on/48 off rotation with the occasional Kelly day. The way it works is that firefighters are broken up into one of three shifts (A,B,C). All firefighters will do a rotation on ambulance as well. Two members from one of the squads that is off will have the Kelly day (extra day off) and two will work ambulance. Then they swap the next Kelly day. Each squad covers at least 1 ambulance shift every 2 weeks. There also are a few auxiliary firefighters, who are not full time career, but are firefighters who are on call like volunteers but will receive a stipend for on duty time. All firefighters in the department are trained as EMTs. The majority of firefighters (including all officers) are trained as paramedics. Each fire apparatus carries AED/EKG, IV kit, some trauma supplies, a BVM, oxygen with masks, narcan, non control medications, backboard, c-collar.
