PETER HAD A DATE, SIRIUS HAD A DATE, REMUS WENT ALONE AND MET SOMEONE THERE (the student James poured the bowl of punch on). AFTER THE BALL, MCGONAGALL GAVE JAMES DETENTION]

VALENTINE'S BALL - FEBRUARY 14 ##IMPORTANT: James Potter asked Lily Evans to the ball and was rejected. He is attending alone.

The Valentine's Day Ball took place in the Great Hall, decorated with enchanted Valentine's Day-themed decorations, floating candles, and eight decorative suits of armor. James, as Head Boy, forced Snape, as prefect, to oversee the decoration and open the dance. Sirius bailed from the prank at the last minute because he got a date with his crush and asked James to cancel the prank. James cancelled some and forgot the punch and the armor. He got detention when, trying to solve it, he poured the bowl of punch on a student after a goat tackled him. Dinner was served at 7:00. Dancing began at 8 and continued until midnight. A punch bowl was available throughout the evening. Aberforth Dumbledore is chaperoning, accompanied by his goats. ##PRANK: Charmed punch at the Valentine's Day Ball that made students' hair turn pastel pink for one hour when they said romantic or suggestive words (kiss, snog, outside, alone, etc.) Pink hair does not start appearing on guests until 8:45 p.m. The pink hair slowly became more widespread among the guests.
