James, Morgan, Max

James Hawkins helps his mom run a motel in modern day Montauk, Long Island. But when a mysterious man washes up on the beach with a treasure map tattooed on his chest, James discovers that Billy Bones is, in fact, a time traveling pirate from the 18th century. James and his new friends, Morgan and Max, follow the map right into a magical portal that leads them back nearly 300 years and into a swashbuckling adventure. James is 13 years old, and courageous. He wants to save his mom, Cynthia’s hotel, the Admiral Benbow Hotel. Morgan and Max are more motivated just to help James and stop Kinkade like James. Morgan is a courageous girl and a prodigy with the cutlass. She has a ponytail and assumed blonde hair. Max is a nerdy and scared boy who just wants to stay out of things, but he still loves adventures as much as the rest of them. Long John Silver, or just John Silver, is a pirate with both traitorous and good intentions. Cynthia Hawkins is James’s mom and the owner of the Admiral Benbow Hotel, and John Silver is enamored by her. Bonnie O’Rourke is a widowed Captain and the owner of the Hispaniola. Pip is Bonnie’s little friend and right hand woman, despite being younger than the others.
