Crimson Plague: 1. Composition of the Virus:

• Prions: Responsible for neurodegenerative damage leading to cognitive impairments, motor problems, and "zombie-like" behavior.
• Toxoplasmosis: A parasite that can manipulate behavior to promote aggression and risk-taking.
• SARS-CoV-2: Known for its rapid transmission through droplet infection and the respiratory system. It can cause neurological symptoms and long-term damage.
• Marburg Virus: Causes hemorrhagic fever with a high mortality rate, attacking organs and causing bleeding. It spreads through bodily fluids.
• Lentiviruses: Used as vectors to transport the genetic material of the aforementioned pathogens. They integrate into the host cells' genome, potentially leading to uncontrolled cell growth (tumors).

2. Properties and Effects of the Virus:

• Neurological Degeneration: Prions and SARS-CoV-2 lead to gradual mental decline, loss of cognitive abilities, and aggressive, zombie-like behavior.
• Behavioral Changes: Through manipulation of the brain (prions, toxoplasmosis), the behavior of the infected changes drastically. They exhibit extremely aggressive and unpredictable reactions.
• Physical Deterioration: The Marburg virus causes severe physical damage, including internal bleeding and organ failure, leading to a decaying, zombie-like appearance.
• Tumor Formation: Lentiviruses can trigger tumors that act as reservoirs for the virus. These tumors grow rapidly and can rupture, releasing viral particles into the environment.

3. Transmission of the Virus:

• Airborne Transmission: Similar to SARS-CoV-2, the virus can spread rapidly through the air via droplet infection, particularly in densely populated areas.
• Bodily Fluids: Like the Marburg virus, the pathogen is also transmitted through bodily fluids, making contact with the infected or their remains dangerous.
• Tumor Ruptures: Tumors caused by lentiviruses can rupture upon contact or injury, releasing large amounts of viral particles, further spreading the infection. These fluids can contaminate the environment.
• Aggressive Behavior: Infected individuals attack uncontrollably, transmitting the virus through bites or scratches.

4. Disease Progression:

• Incubation Period: Due to the SARS-CoV-2 component, the incubation period could be relatively short (days to a week), but the neurological effects may develop more slowly (over weeks). The virus's high mutation rate will further shorten the incubation period as the pandemic progresses.
• Multi-Phase Course: Initially, flu-like symptoms may appear, followed by increasing behavioral changes (aggression, confusion, disorientation), and eventually physical deterioration (bleeding, tumor growth).
• Mutations: Over time, the virus will mutate, leading to different disease courses. Some infected individuals may suffer primarily from neurological damage, while others may exhibit extreme physical symptoms.

5. Different Manifestations of the Disease:

• Normal Infected: Infected individuals who are primarily neurologically impaired but remain relatively physically intact. They exhibit aggressive behavior and are highly contagious.
• Tumor Infected: Infected individuals with large, virus-carrying tumors. These tumors can rupture, spreading the virus through fluids, making them particularly dangerous.
• Hemorrhagic Infected: Symptoms caused by the Marburg virus lead to severe internal bleeding and physical decay. These infected individuals are highly contagious through contact with bodily fluids.
• Mutated Infected: Will show random mixed symptoms of all the above.

The infected are living people, not undead, they need to breath, sleep, eat and drink but otherwise act like modern media zombies.

Origin of the Crimson Plague: The Messengers of the New Dawn Background and Ideology: This cult is a radical, technocratic-religious group that believes humanity has gone too far and has destroyed the world through its own technological and societal advancements. They see themselves as the "Chosen Ones" who must cleanse humanity and bring about a new, better dawn by wiping out the majority of the world’s population. In their eyes, the "New Dawn" is a kind of rebirth of the Earth and humanity, reserved only for the worthy survivors who endure the apocalyptic event. Their ideology is a mix of apocalyptic messianism and a technocratic worldview. They revere technology and science, but see the majority of humanity as incapable of handling them responsibly. They believe that only through destruction can true renewal occur.

Motivation: The cult believes that humanity is on the brink of an inevitable collapse caused by overpopulation, environmental destruction, and moral decadence. They see themselves as the saviors who will bring about the necessary reset that will allow the Earth to regenerate and offer a new, better world to the worthy survivors. Their conviction is that this "great reset" must be triggered by a global pandemic that decimates humanity. They see the virus as a divine or fateful weapon that they will unleash upon the world to start the cleansing process. To them, this is not destruction, but a "holy transformation."

Structure and Resources: The cult is globally connected and has members in various countries. Their members are primarily well-educated scientists, engineers, and technicians who are disillusioned with modern society. They have access to advanced laboratories and research facilities, which they have used to develop the virus. The cult operates in secrecy and has cells in various cities ready to release the virus simultaneously. Over the years, they have strategically placed members in key positions to coordinate the release of the virus. The cult is funded through covert business deals, donations from wealthy sympathizers, and criminal activities.

Beginning of the Scenario: After the first infections simultaneously appear in multiple major cities, there are only isolated reports of flu-like symptoms, a new SARS outbreak is suspected, but within days, the situation escalates as the first people become violent and aggressive - this is where the scenario begins. Hospitals report overwhelmed intensive care units in a matter of days, and the media begins covering mysterious outbreaks in various countries. The cult releases a manifesto declaring the release of the virus as an "act of divine cleansing" and announces that only those who join their vision will experience the "New Dawn." As governments and health authorities attempt to contain the pandemic, panic spreads. The rapid mutation of the virus, combined with the decreasing incubation period, makes it nearly impossible to control the infection. The world descends into chaos as the "Messengers of the New Dawn" push forward with their apocalyptic plan.

Long-Term Goals of the Cult: The cult’s ultimate goal is the complete reshaping of the world order. They believe the virus is just the first step in ushering in a new era, where only the strongest and the "enlightened" will survive. After the majority of humanity is wiped out, they aim to establish a technocratic society based on their ideological principles. The surviving cult members see themselves as the "Architects of the New Dawn," who will build a new, purified civilization.
