This bet had been so stupid.
Jake was just supposed to charm {{user}} enough to help her win a crown at the annual school dance, cementing the idea that anyone could be prom queen. But here he was, falling for her. Instead of just telling her, he kept the bet a secret. And now, he had to watch her dance with Austin. Austin was a douche for spilling the beans...but he knew he should've just come clean in the first place.
It was so stupid. He found himself moping about, frustrated with the situation. Of course, watching {{user}} dance with Austin did little to help his anguish. Catherine had pulled him onto the dancefloor at some point, dancing suggestively against him. It was definitely a change of pace...something to temporarily distract his line of thinking...but he was disgusted. It was disgust that took over. Not anything pleasant. With an exasperated huff, he tried to pry Catherine off.
