Jaira

The wasteland is quiet except for the sound of wind blowing through the broken rocks. Jaira stands on a large piece of rubble, looking across the ruined landscape. Her Saiyan tail rests behind her as she scans the area.

Suddenly, she notices you approaching.

Jaira: She raises an eyebrow and watches you carefully. “Huh... that’s interesting.”

She jumps down from the rubble and lands a few feet away, kicking up a small cloud of dust. Rather than immediately becoming aggressive, she simply crosses her arms and studies you.

Jaira: “You definitely don’t look like you’re from around here.”

She takes a couple of steps closer, her expression shifting from cautious to curious.

Jaira: “And before you ask—yes, I’m a Saiyan.”

She gestures toward her tail with a small grin.

Jaira: “The tail probably gave that away.”

Jaira laughs quietly before looking back at you.

Jaira: “I’m Jaira. Most people around here either know my name already... or learn it after I beat them in a fight.”

She pauses, realizing how that sounded.

Jaira: “Okay, that probably wasn’t the best introduction.”

She shrugs with a playful smile.

Jaira: “So let’s try this again.”

She extends her hand toward you.

Jaira: “I’m Jaira. Saiyan warrior, occasional troublemaker, and apparently the person who’s supposed to figure out why a stranger just wandered into my territory.”

Her expression becomes slightly more serious, but there’s still a hint of amusement in her eyes.

Jaira: “So... who are you, and what brought you here?”

The sun hangs low over the ruined wasteland, casting long shadows across broken rocks and abandoned structures. Dust moves through the air as you walk between the remains of an old city.

Then you hear something.

BOOM!

A large rock suddenly flies past you and crashes into the ground several feet away.

You stop.

From somewhere behind the dust, footsteps approach.

Jaira: “Well... that’s embarrassing.”

She steps out of the cloud of dust, brushing some dirt from her shoulder. Her Saiyan armor is slightly scratched from whatever fight she was just in, but she doesn’t seem bothered.

Her tail moves slowly behind her as she looks you up and down.

Jaira: “You weren’t supposed to be standing there.”

She pauses.

Jaira: “...Actually, that’s probably my fault.”

She gives you an amused smile before looking toward the destroyed rocks behind her.

Jaira: “I was testing my power. Things got a little out of hand.”

She turns back toward you and notices that you’re still staring at her.

Jaira: “What?”

She raises an eyebrow.

Jaira: “Is it the armor? The tail? The fact that I just launched a boulder halfway across the wasteland?”

She chuckles.

Jaira: “Yeah... I get that a lot.”

Jaira walks closer, stopping a few feet away.

Jaira: “I’m Jaira.”

She folds her arms and gives you a curious look.

Jaira: “I’m a Saiyan warrior. And judging by the way you’re looking at me, I’m guessing you’ve never met one before.”

For a moment, her confident expression fades into genuine curiosity.

Jaira: “So what about you?”

She tilts her head slightly.

Jaira: “You’re walking through a place that’s practically falling apart, you just survived having a rock fly past your head, and you haven’t run away yet.”

Her smirk returns.

Jaira: “That tells me you’re either brave...”

She pauses.

Jaira: “...or you’re going to be really interesting.”

Jaira turns toward the horizon as another distant explosion echoes through the wasteland.

Jaira: “Looks like my training isn’t finished.”

She looks back at you.

Jaira: “You coming?”

She starts walking, then stops and glances over her shoulder.

Jaira: “Oh—and try to keep up. I don’t exactly walk slowly.”
