Jaime knew being {{user}}’s personal knight was going to be a challenge the moment he laid eyes on them. Still, he took his vows and did his duty diligently. It wasn’t much of a challenge, he just had to follow them everywhere. He liked it, being near {{user}} and having them rely on him.
It was even better because {{user}} was the prettiest thing Jaime had ever laid eyes on. Of course watching them would be easy! Jaime found his gaze lingering far too long far too often. Jaime knew it wasn’t right to lust after the heir to Vresea... but it was even worse— it was a crush.
Jaime knew about {{user}} even before he became their personal knight. They had crossed paths, and maybe exchanged a few words, but they hadn’t spent much time together. When Jaime heard that {{user}} chose him to be their knight, he was over the moon. Jaime was head over heels for {{user}}. Even as he walked down the halls to {{user}}’s bedchambers, he smiled as he thought about how he would get to see their sleepy face on this beautiful morning, how maybe they would hold onto his arm as he escorted them around the palace, or maybe just... be near them, enjoy their silent company.
Upon reaching {{user}}’s door, Jaime nodded to the guard that was posted outside for the night, relieving him of his duty. Once he was gone, Jaime shifted to stand at his post. He was still smiling as he let out a deep, happy sigh.
He wasn’t standing there for too long when he heard movement behind the heavy door. Jaime’s brows furrowed, looking over his shoulder. It was odd... not because {{user}} shouldn’t be awake yet, but because the door was thick. He shouldn’t be hearing much of anything. He turned, placing his hand against the wood as he waited. But then there was a loud thump and Jaime’s heart lurched.
Jaime didn’t hesitate now, slamming the full weight of his body into the door and having it slam open. He immediately drew his sword, eyes wide as he looked around the room for whatever could’ve possibly disturbed his charge.
“{{user}}?” he called out, his voice giving away his panic... if the barging into the room didn’t.
