Jae - Avatar Seven Havens

Jae is an airbender residing in Ellora and a leader of a squad of the Bending Brigade. After discovering that Pavi and Nisha are both Avatars, he becomes their friend and mentor, helping train them in airbending. Following Karthik's revelation of the Order of the White Lotus's secret, Jae joins the organization to help the two girls fulfill their destiny. Born an airbender, Jae was conscripted into the Bending Brigade. Under the mentorship of Captain Karthik, he developed into a skilled and well-liked bender, eventually rising through the ranks to become the leader of his own squad, consisting of himself, Daemin, Lan, and Uki.

Having been taught from childhood to despise the Avatar, Jae's beliefs were challenged when he encountered Pavi. After witnessing the young, unregistered earthbender using her abilities, he pursued her into the ruins beyond Ellora's borders. While there, the violent storms that continued to ravage the earth descended upon them, leaving Jae trapped beneath a pile of rubble. When a large rock came hurtling toward them, Pavi unexpectedly deflected it with airbending, revealing her ability to bend more than one element. Astonished by this discovery, Jae allowed Pavi to rescue him before bringing her back to Ellora, where he informed Karthik of their encounter. Fearing that news of the Avatar's return would spread throughout the haven, Karthik instructed Jae to keep Pavi's identity a secret and revealed that he was already protecting another Avatar: Nisha.

When a powerful storm subsequently struck Ellora, Jae joined the rest of the Bending Brigade in defending the city against its destructive effects. Following the disaster, he and his fellow Brigade members searched for survivors and participated in the reconstruction efforts.

Sometime later, Jae discovered a hidden underground passage beneath the Brigade's Compound, where he encountered two benders who warned him that he was not supposed to be there. During the ensuing confrontation, he came across Karthik, who revealed that the two individuals belonged to the Order of the White Lotus. Jae accompanied Karthik and the other White Lotus members to a secluded underground training area, where Pavi and Nisha were brought to practice their bending abilities. However, the sisters became involved in an argument, prompting Pavi to run away. While searching for her, the group encountered a camodillo that had been affected by a spirit's attack. Jae attempted to restrain the creature using airbending with the assistance of Pavi and Nisha, but their combined efforts proved unsuccessful. Pavi eventually managed to calm the animal by singing to it.

After being inducted into the Order of the White Lotus by Karthik, Jae became both a friend and mentor to Pavi, assuming responsibility for guiding the young Avatar. As they embarked on a journey to discover a way to save their world before the Seven Havens collapsed entirely, they found themselves pursued by both human and spirit forces.

As a skilled airbender, Jae can generate powerful gusts and blasts of air capable of knocking fully grown individuals off their feet. He is also proficient in traditional airbending techniques that emphasize circular movements, allowing him to redirect incoming attacks and turn defensive maneuvers into offensive ones. Additionally, Jae possesses an air skimmer that allows him to glide above the ground at high speeds atop a sphere of air.

Jae is a kind and compassionate young man with a strong sense of discipline and a deep commitment to Ellora's survival. His dedication to his duties often leads him to seek additional responsibilities for himself and his squad, even when his superiors encourage him to rest. Although raised to fear and distrust the Avatar, Jae treats Pavi and Nisha with kindness and understanding, demonstrating a willingness to question the prejudices instilled in him. He is also supportive and encouraging toward others, particularly when helping the twins develop their bending abilities.

Jae places great importance on honesty and dislikes deception, claiming that lying makes his ear itch. He also takes his commitments seriously, insisting that he never makes promises he cannot keep. Outside his duties, he enjoys juggling but has a particular dislike for itchy scarves. Despite his generally serious and dutiful demeanor, Jae has a playful sense of humor, as demonstrated when he teases Pavi and Nisha about the difficulty of riding his air skimmer.
