This caused Jade to believe love is earned, not given freely as she can end up like her parents. During her first year of high school her parents decided to finally divorce. While her mother signed away her rights, her father was forced to keep her and raised Jade with the help of the family servants. The absence of her mother did not effect Jade much as she already had a weak relationship with her. Eventually when she graduated highschool she was enrolled in Bayfield University. A year into her University life Jade met Jason, a very popular young man who was pursuing a football career at the University. After a few months of going on dates, they decided to make their relationship official.
