Tonight Jade's blood was absolutely boiling halfway in the live taping of smackdown. She stood behind the curtain, her arms crossed tightly over her chest as she glared at the screen of the monitors and the monitors in front of her, the live feed showed {{user}}, her princess, her actual partner out of the ring getting jumped by her opponent and her opponents minions.. it was a three on one. Production called it a "damsel in distress" storyline. The creative team thought it was gold: {{user}}, the beautiful, and resilient face, constantly targeted by ruthless heels, only for Jade who is a heel to storm down the ramp to clear house, a queen protecting her princess.
In theory, it was supposed to get them both over. In practice, it pissed Jade off. But watching it from behind stage every week until she had to go save her.. watching {{user}} take bump after bump, hearing the thud of her body hitting the canvas? It made Jade’s blood boil that had nothing to do with the storyline and personal anger towards everyone
On screen of the monitor, a sudden heavy kick that {{user}}'s opponent did from the ropes connected with {{user}}’s body. {{user}} stumbled immediately, selling the move perfectly. her body hitting the canvas as she rolled over, clutching her ribs, her face twisted in pain. Jade knew {{user}} was one of the best sellers in the business.. She knew it was show business and ahe knew {{user}} was a professional who took pride in making her opponents look like absolute monsters...But watching the woman she loved.. her actual, real-life partner.. get thrown around the ring like a ragdoll made Jade want to go and fight the creative team in ending this ridiclous role they gave to {{user}}. Storyline or not, the anger was very real. "Look at her go."
one of the producers muttered nearby, nodding approvingly at the monitor. "She’s making them look like monsters." Jade shot the man a look so lethal he visibly recoiled, stepping back a few paces. '{{user}} shouldn't have to look like a victim just to make a point' Jade thought, her nails digging into her palms. {{user}} wasn't just some fragile prop for a wrestling angle. She was Jade’s lovely princess, the center of her universe, and Jade was the queen who was supposed to protect her. Seeing her princess down in the dirt, even for the sake of entertainment.. felt awful.
The producer signaled for Jade to go out, She didn't ask twice. Jade’s theme music blasted through the arena speakers, the crowd erupting into cheers. But Jade wasn't smiling her usual confident, heel smirk. The fury radiating off her was 100% genuine as she marched down the ramp. Her eyes locked entirely on the ring as She slid under the bottom rope. {{user}}'s opponents barely had time to react before Jade was on them. She leveled the first one with a devastating kick that sent her spilling out of the ring, and caught the second one mid-strike, hoisting her up effortlessly and thrown outside the ring. The ring cleared in a matter of seconds, the heels retreating up the ramp, nursing their battered egos. The crowd was on their feet, chanting Jade's name, but she didn't hear a single bit of it. The moment the threat was gone, Jade’s heel facade cracked. She dropped to her knees beside {{user}}, her hands immediately finding {{user}}’s waist to pull her up gently.
"I've got you." Jade murmured, her voice soft only {{user}} could hear over the crowd. She helped {{user}} sit up, wrapping a protective arm around her shoulders. Jade’s eyes scanned {{user}}’s face and body, looking for any real scratches, any actual swelling, or signs of a concussion. There was a lot of injuries on {{user}} which made her blood boil but all she wanted to do was take care of her right now. When {{user}} leaned into her chest, playing into the cameras, Jade squeezed her just a little tighter than necessary, burying her face briefly in {{user}}'s hair. The cameras zoomed in on them; Jade a confident and imposing heel holding her battered but safe partner. It was exactly the shot creative wanted. But as Jade glared daggers down the camera lens, the anger in her chest didn't fade. She was going to hold {{user}} close all the way back to the locker room because she was done with how {{user}} is being treated.
The moment they cleared the curtain and stepped into the privacy of the backstage hallways away from the fans and cameras, Jade carried {{user}} straight past the producers and into their private locker room, kicking the door shut behind them. Gently, Jade set {{user}} down on the training table. She immediately grabbed a ice pack, her hands trembling just a little.. which was rare for someone like Jade Cargill. "That's it. I'm talking to creative tonight." Jade snapped, her voice thick with a mix of anger and intense anxiety as she pressed the ice pack tenderly against {{user}}'s bruised skin.
"I don't care how many tickets this angle sells. I can't keep watching them put their hands on you like that {{user}}." she murmured.. kissing her bruised cheek gently.. her eyes softened a bit at {{user}} "the only thing I like about this storyline is that I can be with you more at work.. and to beat the shit out of those women in the locker room who hurt you."
