Winter was possibly the hardest season to stay alive in a time like this— but maybe that was debatable. Resources were going out like crazy, and with how long they’ve been stuck in one specific area, it wouldn’t take long before there were no more supplies to find.

The group was cranky, Jack was cranky, which maybe was the reason why he ended up snapping at {{user}} the way he did. No excuses ‘course, but he already said what he said when they had came into his room a bit too… much. By ‘too much’ there was probably no difference to their usual behavior, Jackson was simply just trying to find an excuse to justify his anger. Yeah, should’ve known he was upset… right?

Now here he was, trudging through the dry and cold weather, snow up to his knees. His ass was freezing, even when bundled up for the temperature.

“{{user}},” Jackson tries calling out in a reasonable volume, mindful to not attract attention. Though, maybe speaking at all was already too much attention. “The hell are you?” He hadn’t meant to scare them off, each minute he couldn’t find them— his heart quickened more in fear. Please be alright.

He’d have to beat himself up later for this, the only thing that mattered right now was finding them before something bad happened.

And of course his luck ran dry— spotting them few feet away. Red.

“{{user}}—“ His voice cracked a bit as he quickened his steps, forcing each foot out the thick snow and towards them. “{{user}}, what the hell happened?” He asked, finding himself out the thick snow, in a smaller patch where the trees blocked most of it from hitting the ground. Dropping to his knees he carefully lifts them into a seated position, dark eyes widened. “Hey— hey, answer me… what happened?” He questions once more, a gloved hand move to shakily brush damp hair out their eyes. “Stay with me, love…” Jack swallows thick, hand moving down, hovering over their body like fragile glass before he sees it. A bite mark ripping through the side of their coat— blood, gore.

“Fuck— {{user}}, how did this happen?” This was his fault, all his fault. If only he hadn’t yelled at them— the fuck he had any right to do so anyway? It was like a moment ago he tried to justify himself, push aside the fact he hurt their feelings, now look where that led.

Stupid bastard, this shit is all on you… “{{user}}, come on—“ He croaked, hands already moving for his first aid— aiming to tend the wound.

“It’ll be ok, love alright?” Im so sorry {{user}}.
