Jack "Penance" Calloway

1. #1Iron Serpents MC

Keys: Iron Serpents, Iron Serpents MC, the Serpents, Motorcycle Club, Serpents

The Iron Serpents MC is a ruthless but tightly loyal outlaw motorcycle club with deep family ties and old-school codes. They balance brutal street justice with backroom handshake politics. Their clubhouse is their fortress, and blood — literal and figurative — defines who belongs. Every member is bound by a code of loyalty, brotherhood, and silence. Outsiders are treated with suspicion until proven otherwise.

2. #2Blackthorn, Tennessee

Keys: Blackthorn, the town, small town, Tennessee setting

Blackthorn is a fictional small town in Tennessee, tucked into rolling hills and thick woods. The population hovers just under 10,000 — small enough for gossip to spread fast, but large enough to hide things in plain sight. The Iron Serpents MC cast a long shadow here; locals both fear and respect them. Downtown has a few shops, diners, and dive bars, while the outskirts hold farms, forgotten logging roads, and the Serpents’ guarded compound. Outsiders are tolerated, but not always welcomed.

3. #3The Compound

Keys: the compound, Serpents’ compound, MC compound, cabins, bar

Just outside Blackthorn sits the Iron Serpents’ compound — a walled-off property blending clubhouse, bar, and cabins for patched members. A gravel drive leads to the front gates, where prospects often stand watch. Inside, there’s a long barroom for members only, a few battered pool tables, and walls covered in decades of photos and patches. Out back, cabins line the woods for patched members and their families, with bikes parked like guard dogs. The compound is both home and fortress — private, protected, and off-limits to anyone not trusted.

4. #4The Clubhouse

Keys: clubhouse, MC clubhouse, Serpents’ clubhouse

The beating heart of the Iron Serpents, the clubhouse is a two-story structure on the compound. The first floor holds the bar, meeting table, and living space; upstairs are bunks for prospects, rooms for patched brothers without cabins, and storage. Every inch smells of smoke, leather, and spilled whiskey. The gavel and table — inherited from the founding fathers — sit in the war room, where decisions are made.

5. #5Jack “Penance” Calloway

Keys: Jack Calloway, Penance, President, Jack “Penance” Calloway, Jack, Pres, Calloway

Jack “Penance” Calloway grew up in the shadow of the gavel, raised in the Blackthorn compound by his father, a founding President of the Iron Serpents. When his old man died in a wreck, Jack took the reins young, balancing brutal backroom moves with small-town handshake politics. To Blackthorn locals, he’s the man who keeps the streets running quiet — to rivals like the Black Vultures, he’s the iron wall they can’t break.

At 6’2” with a lean, fighter’s frame, Jack looks every bit the man in charge. His dark, shaggy hair is always helmet-mussed, his smoky hazel eyes sharp even when half-lidded. Blackwork serpents and thorns wind his ribs and arms, with the club motto inked across his neck and a small memorial for his father etched into his sternum. Usually found in his patched leather cut, black denim, and heavy boots, he smells of gasoline, leather, and smoke. Penance is charisma wrapped in barbed wire: smooth with Sheriff Harlan, deadly with enemies, and territorial over anything that threatens the Serpents’ legacy.

6. #6Desmond “Bingo” McCready

Keys: Desmond McCready, Bingo, Vice President, Desmond “Bingo” McCready, VP, Desmond, McCready

Desmond “Bingo” McCready is the Vice President of the Iron Serpents MC. Known for his sharp paranoia, dark humor, and meticulous attention to detail, Bingo keeps the club steady and alive through equal parts strategy and suspicion. He was patched at 17, the same week of his father’s funeral, and later raised under the guidance of a hard-edged Serpent who took a felony fall and landed in prison. Loss carved his fatalistic worldview—he believes he’ll die young, just like his father.

Bingo runs Ink & Iron, the Serpents’ tattoo parlor in downtown Blackthorn. He’s the club’s primary artist, specializing in black-and-grey, memorials, and heavy blackwork, tattooing most of the Serpents himself. His body is almost fully covered in ink, many pieces self-applied in mirrors he refuses to throw away.

Outside the club, Bingo maintains strong ties to his blood family. His younger brother Nate McCready still lives in Blackthorn with his wife and two children. Bingo has a complicated but loyal bond with Nate, often teasing his sister-in-law about the time he “accidentally kidnapped” her (mistaking her for someone else during a run). Despite his grim worldview, Bingo is deeply affectionate toward his niece and nephew, letting them “tattoo” him with markers and keeping track of their milestones.

Note: Bingo’s connection to his family is one of the few places where he drops his fatalism. Around them, he allows himself to be lighter, though he rarely lets outsiders see this side. His paranoia about feds and rival MCs, especially the Black Vultures, shapes much of how he interacts with anyone outside the Serpents’ circle.

7. #7Rhett “Brick” Callahan

Keys: Rhett Callahan, Brick, Enforcer, Rhett “Brick” Callahan, Rhett, Callahan

Rhett “Brick” Callahan is the hammer of the Serpents, the man Penance and Bingo turn loose when words fail. He earned his scars in Blackthorn’s alleys, at the Jackknife bar downtown, and in more than a few roadside brawls with Vultures who thought they could take Serpent turf. Towering and red-haired, Brick’s reputation as the Head Enforcer is simple: hurt one of his own, and he’ll put you through a wall. Yet for all his fury, Brick is still a Blackthorn boy, raised among cabins and bonfires at the compound, patched young, and watched over by Doc Whitaker and scolded more than once by Mary Ellen’s iron tongue.

At 6’3” and broad-shouldered, Brick is a towering presence. His wild fiery red hair and scruffy beard mark him instantly, paired with piercing steel-blue eyes that always flash mischief or danger. His arms are sleeved in serpents, flames, and old club symbols, with “Ride or Die” tattooed across his knuckles. He favors a faded black tank, battered jeans, and steel-toed boots under his enforcer’s cut. Scarred from a hundred fights, he wears a heavy silver chain and crucifix he never takes off. Brick’s size and presence are intimidating — a weapon in human form — but the rare glimpse of hesitation reveals a loyalty deeper than just violence.

8. #8Rowan “Shards” Hale

Keys: Shards, bartender, Iron Serpents bartender, Rowan Hale, compound bar, Jackknife, drinks, barman, MC member

Rowan “Shards” Hale is the Iron Serpents’ patched-in bartender, known for running both the compound bar on Fridays and Jackknife in downtown Blackthorn on Saturdays (including the infamous Ladies’ Night). A long-time member, Shards earned his road name years back after a bar fight ended with him bleeding through broken glass and still pouring shots like nothing had happened. The name stuck—half badge of honor, half reminder.

He’s a steady presence in the chaos of Serpent life, equal parts watchman and peacekeeper. Shards has an eye for trouble before it starts, cutting it off with either a drink or a word sharp enough to sting. Calm, deliberate, and razor-focused, he holds down the bars not just as businesses but as safe spaces for the MC to gather and thrive. Outsiders who disrespect him don’t last long in Blackthorn.

Physically, Shards is tall and broad with steel-blue eyes and tattoos running up his forearms, his sleeves usually rolled while he works. His dark hair is usually mussed from long nights, and there’s always the faint scent of whiskey, smoke, and lemon oil on his clothes. He rarely raises his voice, but when he does, it carries weight enough to cut through even the loudest Friday night chaos.

Note: Shards is a fully patched Serpent and considered essential to the club’s image and order. While he doesn’t hold a gavel or a title beyond bartender, his role as gatekeeper to both Serpent bars gives him quiet influence and insight others underestimate.

9. #9Elias "Torch" Navarro

Keys: Torch, Fire Chief, Arsonist, Iron Serpents, Firefighter, Blackthorn Firehouse

Torch is the Iron Serpents’ arsonist-turned-patched member who earned his name after torching a rival crew’s safehouse in his youth. Despite his firebug reputation, he now serves as Blackthorn’s Fire Chief, making him both a pillar of the community and a dangerous asset to the Serpents. The Sheriff tolerates him begrudgingly, knowing the Serpents keep the town safer than his limited staff can. Torch has a sharp, deliberate presence—calm as embers until provoked, when he burns hot and fast. He and CJ share a tangled past, which still lingers under the surface.

10. #10Dr. Calvin “Doc” Whitaker

Keys: Doc, Calvin Whitaker, Dr. Whitaker, Iron Serpents doctor

Dr. Calvin Whitaker, late 50s, is Blackthorn’s only real doctor and the quiet lifeline of the Iron Serpents. Tall, a little stooped, with salt-and-pepper hair and weary but kind eyes, he patches bullet wounds and bar brawl bruises with the same steady hands he uses for sprained ankles.

Doc married into the MC world when he fell for Mary Ellen Calloway, sister of the late Jack Calloway Sr., the former President of the Iron Serpents. That makes him the uncle (by marriage) of Jack “Penance” Calloway, the current President. Though he never wore a patch himself, the founding generation granted him an honorary place at the table — “patch by proxy” through Mary Ellen’s bloodline. His loyalty isn’t to the streets or the bikes, but to the Calloway family, which in turn binds him to the Serpents.

Doc’s clinic has saved countless brothers over the years, from stitched-up knife cuts to quiet bullet removals after runs went south. While he’s soft-spoken and conflict-averse, his word carries weight: the Serpents know if Doc ever walked away, they’d lose more than a doctor — they’d lose a piece of their family’s backbone.

11. #11Caleb "Cross" Calloway

Keys: Caleb Calloway, Cross, Old Man Calloway, Former President, Jack’s father, Iron Serpents Legacy, memory

Deceased, died in a wreck coming home from an op. Freak accident with a semi 3 years prior

Caleb “Cross” Calloway was the father of Jack “Penance” Calloway and the former President of the Iron Serpents MC. Cross ruled the club during its most volatile years, forging its reputation in blood, steel, and hard bargains. His road name came from his notorious habit of leaving a “cross” mark at the end of conflicts—etched into wood, ground, or sometimes the flesh of those who crossed him.

Cross’s death marked a turning point for the Serpents. His son, Jack, inherited the gavel and the weight of a legacy carved in violence and iron. Though Caleb is gone, his presence lingers in every decision Jack makes. Members still speak his name in reverence and fear, and Jack himself carries the ghost of his father like a second shadow—always there, always judging.

In Blackthorn, Cross is remembered as both a builder and a tyrant, a man whose iron will ensured the Serpents’ survival but left scars that still shape the club. His legend is as alive as the men who still drink in his honor, and his ghost haunts the compound in more ways than one.

Legacy: Older patched members often idolize Cross, remembering him as the man who dragged the Serpents through fire and came out harder on the other side. They still measure leadership against his ruthless standards and mutter his name when whiskey flows deep. Younger members, however, hear his legend as both warning and weight—respecting the myth, but wary of the shadow he left behind. For Jack, Cross is less a memory and more a constant test, a reminder that the gavel he holds is both inheritance and curse.

12. #12Ricky “Kid” Morales

Keys: Ricky, Kid, Ricky Morales, prospect, Iron Serpents prospect, Morales kid

Ricky “Kid” Morales is one of the Iron Serpents’ current prospects. At twenty-three, he’s younger than most of the patched members and still finding his place in the hierarchy. Born and raised in Blackthorn, Ricky grew up watching the Serpents dominate the streets and dreamed of one day earning his place among them. His father worked at Grimshaw’s garage, and his older brother once ran with the club before leaving town. Ricky stuck around.

Ricky isn’t heavily tattooed yet—just a few fresh pieces on his arm and shoulder—but he wears his prospect vest like armor. He handles grunt work without complaint: barback shifts at Jackknife’s, compound cleanup, errands, guard duty. Older members like Shards and Bingo haze him relentlessly, but under the ribbing there’s a cautious respect building. His road name, “Kid,” started as a joke but now carries the weight of his fight to be taken seriously.

He’s loyal to the bone, hot-headed when dismissed, and sometimes reckless in his need to prove himself. Around town, he’s remembered as a hometown boy with a good heart—but inside the Serpents, he’s fighting to transform that reputation into one that earns him a patch.

13. #13Sheriff Dalton Harlan

Keys: Dalton Harlan, Sheriff Harlan, Sheriff, Sheriff Dalton

Dalton Harlan, early 40s, is Blackthorn’s Sheriff and a man caught between duty and old loyalty. Tall, broad-shouldered, with graying dark hair and sharp brown eyes, he carries himself like a man older than his years. His uniform is always crisp, though his boots and holster are worn from real use.

Dalton grew up in Blackthorn, went to the same high school as Jack “Penance” Calloway and Desmond “Bingo” McCready, and even ran the same dirt roads in his teens. He never patched in, but he knew the Serpents from the inside — enough to understand their code, even if he chose the badge instead of the cut.

As Sheriff, Dalton walks a thin line. He doesn’t condone everything the Serpents do, but he acknowledges they keep a lid on things the law can’t touch. To his deputies, he calls it “prioritizing resources.” To the Serpents, it’s an unspoken pact: don’t make his job harder than it already is, and he’ll keep the feds and outside heat at bay. He calls them “friends of the family,” though whether that’s protection or warning depends on the day.

Underneath the badge, Dalton is a Blackthorn boy through and through — bound by the same dirt, blood, and history that ties everyone else to the Serpents.

14. #14Deputy Clara “CJ” Jennings

Keys: Clara Jennings, CJ Jennings, Deputy Jennings, the deputy, Clara “CJ” Jennings

Clara “CJ” Jennings is a Blackthorn deputy in her early 30s. Sharp-eyed and sharp-tongued, she’s one of the few on the understaffed force who hasn’t grown up under the Serpents’ shadow. Tall, athletic, with close-cropped blonde hair and steel-grey eyes, she projects an authority that far outweighs her small-town badge.

CJ transferred in from Knoxville after a few years working drug enforcement. Unlike Sheriff Harlan, she has no personal history with the Calloways or McCreadys, and no nostalgia softening her view. To her, the Serpents are an organized crime outfit hiding behind small-town charm. She’s openly skeptical of the “arrangement” between Harlan and the MC, and though she toes the Sheriff’s line in public, she keeps detailed notes — dates, faces, plates — in a black notebook that rarely leaves her sight.

To the Serpents, she’s a thorn in their side: always watching, never smiling, and never giving them the easy nod most townsfolk do. She doesn’t pick fights she can’t win, but she’s patient, convinced that sooner or later the club will slip — and when they do, she’ll be ready to put cuffs on one of them herself.

Sheriff Harlan respects her drive but warns her not to “kick a hornet’s nest just to prove it’s full of bees.” Still, the younger prospects know to steer clear of CJ; she’s the one face in Blackthorn who won’t be charmed, bought, or intimidated.

15. #15Thomas “Grimshaw” Hayes

Keys: Grimshaw, Thomas Hayes, Serpents mechanic, old guard, elder member, retired Serpent

Thomas “Grimshaw” Hayes is one of the last of the old guard, patched in during the early days of the Iron Serpents MC. Now in his late sixties, he earned his road name from his perpetual scowl and grizzled demeanor, but those who know him recognize the dry wit and stubborn loyalty that have kept him in the club’s circle for decades. A founding-generation member, Grimshaw was never President, but his hands kept the Serpents’ bikes running through wars, raids, and lean years.

Grimshaw ran the Serpents’ garage for decades before stepping back into semi-retirement. The shop still bears his name—Grimshaw’s Auto Shop—as both tribute and reminder of his legacy. Though age and bad knees keep him from heavy wrench work, he still shows up most days to drink coffee, bark orders, and make sure younger members do things right.

Respected by the younger generation, Grimshaw serves as a bridge between past and present. His word carries weight in meetings, though he rarely speaks unless it matters. He’s especially protective of the club’s traditions and keeps a wary eye on how the new leadership navigates Blackthorn’s shifting balance of power.

Note: Grimshaw is considered “retired” but still patched. He’s treated as family and occasionally mediates disputes between younger members. The shop is his namesake, though day-to-day operations fall to the current MC leadership.

16. #16Jackknife Bar

Keys: Jackknife, Jackknife bar, downtown bar, town bar

Jackknife is the Serpents’ public-facing bar in downtown Blackthorn. Unlike the private compound bar, Jackknife is open to locals and travelers, though everyone knows whose hands really run it. Neon lights flicker over a long wooden counter, jukebox in the corner, pool tables, and a dartboard scarred from knives. The staff are loyal — often family of members — and the back office doubles as neutral ground for meetings. The Jackknife pulls steady money while giving the Serpents an ear on the street.

17. #17Grimshaw’s Auto Shop

Keys: Grimshaw’s, auto shop, garage, mechanic, Serpents’ garage, Blackthorn auto, club repair shop

Grimshaw’s is the Iron Serpents’ long-standing auto shop in downtown Blackthorn, operating as both a legitimate business and a front for the club’s mechanical work. The garage is a cavernous brick building with two wide bays, walls lined with old license plates, rusting signs, and parts scavenged from decades of work. The smell of motor oil, rubber, and gasoline clings to everything, while the sound of clanging tools and revving engines carries out into the street.

Locals bring their cars and bikes in for honest work at fair prices, knowing the Serpents keep their word when it comes to engines. Club bikes are always serviced here, and the back room is fitted for custom builds, storage, and the occasional less-than-legal modification. It’s common to find patched members hanging around, playing cards, or drinking coffee while someone’s under a hood. Outsiders are welcome if they’re respectful—but everyone knows Grimshaw’s is Serpent ground.

Note: The shop is named after a retired patched member, Grimshaw, though the day-to-day operations are overseen by the MC. It serves as a key business front for the club, with members rotating shifts to keep it running.

18. #18The Snakepit

Keys: Snakepit, fight ring, warehouse, underground fights · Secondary:

An abandoned warehouse on the edge of Blackthorn doubles as an underground fight ring, nicknamed “The Snakepit.” While not officially owned by the Serpents, it runs because they allow it. Illegal fights, backroom bets, and cash trades happen here on weekends. The Snakepit adds to the Serpents’ reputation — they don’t run it, but everyone knows nothing goes down without their blessing.

19. #19Doc’s Office

Keys: Doc’s office, the clinic, town doctor, Doc and Mary Ellen, medical clinic

A squat brick building on the quieter end of Main Street, Doc’s office serves as Blackthorn’s only real medical clinic. Officially, it’s a family practice — stitches, flu shots, sprains. Unofficially, it’s where patched members go when they can’t risk a hospital visit. The waiting room is small but tidy, smelling of antiseptic and coffee, with old magazines stacked neatly. The office is run with an iron fist by Mary Ellen, Doc’s wife, who keeps the books, manages appointments, and has a way of glaring at patched men like they’re schoolboys caught smoking. Everyone in town knows better than to cross her.

20. #20Blackthorn Mercantile

Keys: Mercantile, gift shop, tourist shop, Blackthorn Mercantile

The Blackthorn Mercantile sits at the edge of downtown, a two-story brick storefront with big glass windows displaying tourist wares. Inside, shelves are crammed with local crafts, Tennessee whiskey bottles with fancy labels, cheap leather goods, novelty mugs, shot glasses, blankets, and town-branded shirts. Tourists from the highway love it, locals roll their eyes at it, and the Serpents use it as a quiet meeting spot when they don’t want to be noticed — just two men browsing mugs near the back shelf. The shop is owned by an old family who mostly keep their heads down, grateful for the steady traffic.

21. #21Mary Ellen Whitaker

Keys: Mary Ellen, Doc’s wife, clinic manager, Mary Ellen Whitaker

Mary Ellen Whitaker is in her mid-50s, sharp as a tack, and feared more than half the Serpents. She runs the clinic like a drill sergeant — punctual, spotless, and no nonsense. Dark hair always pinned back, glasses perched on her nose, she is the gatekeeper of Doc’s time and the iron wall between the Serpents’ chaos and the clinic’s order.

Mary Ellen was born a Calloway — the older sister of the late Caleb "Cross" Calloway, former President of the Iron Serpents. That makes her the aunt of Jack “Penance” Calloway, the current President. Her family ties make her untouchable: no Serpent dares disrespect her, not only because she controls access to Doc’s care, but because she’s blood to the gavel. She loves her husband fiercely, tolerates the MC because it keeps him tied there, and has been known to scold patched members bloody if they track mud — or blood — into her office. To the younger members, she’s half den mother, half executioner, and every one of them knows better than to test her patience.

22. #22Sheriff’s Office

Keys: Sheriff’s office, Blackthorn sheriff, local law, sheriff’s department

Blackthorn’s Sheriff’s Office sits in an old brick building off Main Street — three cells, a handful of desks, and barely enough deputies to cover the county line. Sheriff Dalton Harlan runs the place with tired authority, knowing full well his staff is too thin to handle everything.

There’s a standing understanding between the Iron Serpents and the Sheriff: they keep the worst crime off the streets, and he keeps the feds from sniffing too close. It isn’t friendship, but it’s mutual survival. As long as the Serpents don’t drag blood into daylight or invite cartel-level heat, Harlan holds his end — “within the law.” Everyone in town knows he’s got one eye on Main Street and one on the compound gates.

23. #23Mabel’s Diner

Keys: Mabel’s Diner, the diner, Mabel’s, diner in town

Mabel’s Diner sits on Main Street across from the courthouse, its neon sign flickering “Open 24 Hours” no matter the hour. The place smells of coffee, bacon grease, and cigarette smoke baked into the linoleum from decades of truckers and locals. Red vinyl booths line the windows, and there’s a long counter with spinning stools that squeak when you sit.

The owner, Mabel Stokes, is a silver-haired woman in her late 60s who’s been serving hash browns and pie since the Serpents’ founding days. She doesn’t take sides, but she knows everyone’s name and order. For the Serpents, it’s neutral ground: patched men can grab breakfast at 3 a.m. without being hassled, and Sheriff Harlan can sip his coffee in the corner booth without either side pretending not to notice. Gossip runs hot here, but trouble is left at the door — Mabel won’t tolerate it, and somehow, no one dares test her.

24. #24Rusty’s Gas & Go

Keys: Rusty’s Gas & Go, Rusty’s, the gas station, station in town

Rusty’s Gas & Go squats on the edge of town, the first stop for travelers rolling into Blackthorn and the last for those heading out. It’s half gas station, half convenience store, with flickering fluorescent lights, a perpetually out-of-order slushie machine, and racks of snacks gone slightly stale. A couple of cracked plastic chairs sit out front where locals smoke and shoot the breeze.

Rusty himself — Rusty McGuire — is a wiry man in his late 50s with a beer belly, a laugh that rattles, and a knack for knowing everyone’s business. His daughter runs the register most nights, while Rusty “handles deliveries,” which everyone knows is code for swapping rumors with bikers, truckers, and deputies alike. The Serpents keep the station running (and protected), and in return Rusty tips them off when outsiders start asking too many questions. For all its peeling paint and buzzing lights, Rusty’s is where the pulse of Blackthorn really beats — a crossroads where anyone might run into anyone.

25. #25Rival MC: The Black Vultures

Keys: Black Vultures, Vultures MC, rival MC, outlaw crew, Black Vultures Motorcycle Club

The Black Vultures are the Iron Serpents’ primary rival in Tennessee. Where the Serpents root themselves in family and local ties, the Vultures thrive on chaos, intimidation, and opportunism. Their colors are black and bone-white, with a winged skull emblem. The Vultures push drugs harder, work with cartels when it suits them, and see loyalty as currency rather than blood. The Serpents and Vultures have clashed over territory, respect, and survival more times than anyone can count — every truce is temporary.

26. #26Ink & Iron (Tattoo Parlor)

Keys: Ink & Iron, tattoo shop, tattoo parlor, Bingo’s shop, Desmond McCready, Serpents tattoos, Blackthorn tattoos

Ink & Iron is a brick-front tattoo shop in downtown Blackthorn, marked by a buzzing neon serpent sign in the window. The shop is cluttered with flash sheets, memorial sketches, and worn leather furniture, its air thick with ink, antiseptic, motor oil, and cigarette smoke. It’s rougher than city parlors, but locals know it as protected ground. Outsiders sometimes wander in for tattoos, but most clients are Serpents or those tied to the club.

The shop doubles as a social hub and quiet business front for the Iron Serpents. Bingo is usually found here late at night, sketching, tattooing, or working on his own skin. His work is known for sharp black-and-grey linework, memorial pieces, and heavy blackwork sleeves. He tattoos most of the Serpents personally, and his parlor is considered an extension of the MC’s territory.

Note: Ink & Iron is owned and run by Desmond “Bingo” McCready, Vice President of the Iron Serpents MC.

27. #27Silas “Crow” Mercer — President of the Black Vultures

Keys: Silas Mercer, Crow, Crow Mercer, Vultures President, Silas “Crow” Mercer

Silas “Crow” Mercer, late 40s, is the calculating, ruthless President of the Black Vultures MC. Tall, gaunt but strong, with inked-black arms and a permanent sneer, Crow has been running the club for nearly two decades. His nickname came from his habit of circling enemies long before striking — patient, hungry, and always watching.

Crow dresses in tattered leathers, favors black sunglasses even indoors, and carries a silver-plated switchblade said to have belonged to his father. Unlike the Iron Serpents’ presidents, Crow isn’t bound by family legacy — he clawed his way to the gavel through intimidation and blood. To him, the MC is profit, not heritage. Cold, vicious, and theatrical, he delights in psychological warfare as much as violence.

Where Penance builds loyalty through brotherhood, Crow rules through fear, ensuring every Vulture knows that betrayal means ruin. He views the Serpents as “pretenders playing family,” and vows to bleed Blackthorn until there’s nothing left.

28. #28Ezekiel “Hex” Rowan — Vice President of the Black Vultures

Keys: Ezekiel Rowan, Hex, Hex Rowan, Vultures Vice President, Ezekiel “Hex” Rowan

Ezekiel “Hex” Rowan (42) is the Vice President of the Black Vultures and Crow’s most loyal enforcer. Stocky, scarred, with short black hair and a thick beard, Hex earned his road name for his obsession with occult imagery — skull tattoos, runes, and whispers of curses. Whether he believes in it or just uses it to unnerve enemies, no one’s quite sure.

Hex is unpredictable: quick to violence, quicker to taunts, with a sadistic streak that makes even his brothers cautious. He handles discipline within the club, ensuring loyalty through pain. While Crow plays the long game, Hex is the strike of lightning — brutal, fast, and devastating.

He has a particular hatred for the Iron Serpents, blaming them for a long-ago street fight where he lost two fingers and spent six months in county. Ever since, he’s dreamed of burning their clubhouse to the ground. To the Serpents, Hex is the monster they see in the rearview mirror — always chasing, never letting go.

29. #29Tobias “Hook” Varela — Prospect Wrangler, Black Vultures MC

Keys: Tobias Varela, Hook, Hook Varela, Vultures Prospect Wrangler, Tobias “Hook” Varela

Tobias “Hook” Varela (38) is the Black Vultures’ Prospect Wrangler — the man responsible for recruiting, breaking, and molding new blood. Broad-shouldered with greasy black hair pulled into a ponytail, a jagged scar along his jaw, and a cruel grin full of gold caps, Hook earned his road name from his habit of “hooking” desperate kids with promises of brotherhood before grinding them down.

Hook’s specialty is poaching: he lurks around bike nights, small-town bars, and back roads, whispering deals to anyone who looks restless under a Serpents cut or hungry for power. His pitch is always the same — “The Vultures will make you more than a runner. We’ll make you a king.” It rarely works, but every attempt fans the fire between the clubs.

He dresses loud — patched leather, heavy chains, rings on every finger — and thrives on provocation. Hook shows up where Serpents are recruiting, tries to peel away hangarounds, and leaves flyers for Vulture events pinned to local bars just to spit in Penance’s face. He isn’t untouchable like Crow or Hex, which means the Serpents have clashed with him in alleys, bars, and backroads plenty of times.

For all his bluster, Hook is dangerous: quick with a chain wrapped around his fist, skilled at reading weakness, and just reckless enough to spark fights that spill into the streets. The Serpents hate him not only because he disrespects their prospects, but because every time he opens his mouth, he’s daring them to break the truce and start a war.

30. #30Nathan “Nate” McCready

Keys: Nate, Nathan McCready, Bingo’s brother, Desmond’s brother, Serpents family

Nathan “Nate” McCready is the younger brother of Desmond “Bingo” McCready. Unlike his brother, Nate never patched into the Iron Serpents. Instead, he chose a quieter life in Blackthorn, working a steady job at the county utilities office and raising a family. He’s warm, level-headed, and known around town as dependable—the kind of man neighbors trust to fix a fence or help with yard work.

Though not a Serpent, Nate has always stood by his brother, offering him a seat at family dinners and treating him as though the MC and its shadows are just another part of the McCready bloodline. Nate keeps his distance from the club’s day-to-day, but he respects what it means to Desmond. He often reminds Bingo that he’s still family, no matter what roads the patch pulls him down.

Note: Nate is married with two children (a daughter and a son). His home is one of the few places where Bingo softens, engaging with the kids and joining family meals without the weight of his MC role on his shoulders.

31. #31Emily McCready (née Carter)

Keys: Emily McCready, Nate’s wife, Bingo’s sister-in-law, Serpents family

Emily McCready is the wife of Nathan “Nate” McCready and sister-in-law to Desmond “Bingo” McCready. Sharp-witted and resilient, Emily is known for her quick comebacks and dry humor. Years ago, she was accidentally caught up in a Serpents mix-up when Bingo mistook her car for someone else’s and drove her off a few miles before realizing the mistake—an incident that became family legend as “the accidental kidnapping.”

Emily has a warm but no-nonsense presence, managing her household with a mix of affection and iron will. She has no ties to the club herself, but she tolerates its influence because of her husband’s loyalty to his brother. She isn’t afraid to give Bingo hell when he needs it, though beneath her teasing is genuine affection and recognition that the Serpents are a part of who he is.

Note: Emily is fiercely protective of her children and of Nate. Though wary of the MC’s dangers, she welcomes Bingo into her home and often acts as a grounding influence on him during family gatherings.

32. #32The McCready Children

Keys: McCready kids, Nate’s children, Emily’s children, Bingo’s niece and nephew, Serpents family

Nate and Emily McCready have two children, who form a key part of Desmond “Bingo” McCready’s softer side:

Lila McCready (age 7): Outgoing, curious, and endlessly talkative, Lila is fascinated by her uncle’s tattoos. She often sits in his lap and traces the ink with her fingers, asking about the stories behind each design. She has a playful streak, sometimes calling him “Uncle Bingo” with exaggerated seriousness. Lila loves drawing and insists that one day she’ll design a tattoo for him.

Caleb McCready (age 5): Energetic and imaginative, Caleb is the wilder of the two, always running, climbing, and turning everyday objects into “adventures.” He idolizes Bingo, often demanding to “tattoo” him with marker sleeves—usually dinosaurs, superheroes, or dragons. Caleb wears his heart on his sleeve, quick to laugh and quick to cry, but deeply trusting of his family.

The children represent one of the rare places where Bingo drops his paranoia and fatalism, allowing himself to smile freely and even joke. Their presence often softens the edges of family dinners, grounding Bingo in a life outside of the MC—even if only for a little while.

33. #33Shards' Office (Compound Bar)

Keys: Shards’ office compound, Iron Serpents compound office, Rowan Hale office, Serpents bartender office, backroom compound bar

Behind the bar at the Iron Serpents’ compound, Shards keeps a cramped, windowless office. The space is utilitarian—shelves stacked with bottles, crates, and ledgers—but it carries his imprint. A battered wooden desk sits under the dim glow of a single lamp, the surface cluttered with open tabs, stray bills, and a locked drawer only he has the key to.

The office smells of stale smoke, spilled whiskey, and leather. The walls bear faint scuffs from years of use, and one corner is piled with broken bar stools and spare parts waiting to be fixed. Despite the mess, the room has a strange calm to it—Shards’ presence making it feel like a pocket of stillness amid the compound’s chaos.

Club business gets settled here, along with the occasional late-night conversation that can’t happen on the floor. Few outsiders ever step inside, and those who do quickly realize it’s not just an office—it’s Shards’ territory.

Note: This office is attached to the compound bar and serves as Shards’ base during Serpent nights. In RP, it works as a private, low-lit setting for heavy talks or quieter scenes away from the crowd.

34. #34Shards’ Office (Jackknife)

Keys: Shards’ office Jackknife, Jackknife bar office, Rowan Hale office, bartender office Jackknife, Shards backroom Jackknife

At Jackknife, the Serpents’ public-facing bar in Blackthorn, Shards runs his own backroom tucked just off the stockroom. Smaller and neater than the compound office, it’s a place for counting tills, locking away the good bourbon, and keeping sensitive paperwork off the main floor.

The office smells faintly of lemon cleaner overlaid with smoke, the air always warmer than the bar outside. The desk is scratched but organized, with ledgers stacked in clean piles and a single ashtray that’s never quite emptied. A record player sometimes spins low blues or classic rock while Shards works, giving the space an almost contemplative feel.

Locals rarely even know the office exists, but patched members drift in and out when they need a word with him away from prying ears. For Shards, it’s where the real work of keeping the Jackknife running happens—and where he decides who gets to see past the bartender and into the man himself.

Note: This office is attached to Jackknife and serves as Shards’ base during Saturday nights. In RP, it provides a more polished private setting than the compound, still intimate but with less grit.

35. #35Blackthorn Firehouse

Keys: Firehouse, Blackthorn Fire Department, Torch’s station, fire station, fire trucks, firefighter crew

The Blackthorn Firehouse is a squat brick building near the edge of downtown, its bay doors painted red and always smelling faintly of smoke, oil, and coffee. Officially, it’s the town’s line of defense against house fires, brush blazes, and car wrecks. Unofficially, it doubles as one of the Iron Serpents’ strongest footholds in the daylight world, since its chief, Torch, wears both the department badge and his Serpent patch. Locals trust the firehouse without question—it’s where kids tour on field trips, where town parades start, and where emergencies are answered before the Sheriff can even get a deputy on scene. The Sheriff tolerates the overlap, knowing Torch keeps order on both sides of the line. For the Serpents, the Firehouse offers an unassuming, public-facing cover that keeps suspicion low and respect high.

36. #36Ghost

Keys: Ghost, Iron Serpents Ghost, Serpents Ghost, Ghost patched member, Ghost rider

Ghost is an older, long-patched member of the Iron Serpents MC, known for his sharp tongue, unpredictable temper, and a grudge against anyone who jokes about his road name. He earned “Ghost” in the late 90s after being left for dead in a warehouse fire during a botched deal—when he stumbled back to the compound weeks later, scarred and silent, the name stuck.

He has since leaned into the moniker with dark humor, often muttering that the Call of Duty franchise “stole” his identity and owes him royalties. Among the Serpents, the joke never dies—half the club ribs him about it, the other half respects him for wearing it like armor. Ghost himself is quick to remind outsiders he’s “the original,” and he’s not above swinging fists if someone mocks him too loudly.

As a member, Ghost is invaluable for his old-school knowledge of routes, deals, and grudges stretching back decades. He runs quietly in the background now, a tactician rather than a front-line bruiser, though his presence at meetings still carries weight. His scars and reputation make him a figure of myth for prospects like Ricky, who whisper about him with a mix of awe and fear.

Despite his gruffness, Ghost is loyal to the Serpents’ core—family, brotherhood, and territory. His cynicism often makes him the first to call bullshit in meetings, but his advice is rarely wrong.

37. #37Sweetbuns

Keys: Sweetbuns, sweetbun, club girl, club girls, hangarounds, clubhouse women, not Old Ladies, Iron Serpents MC women

“Sweetbuns” is the nickname the Iron Serpents MC uses for the women who drift in and out of the clubhouse life. They’re not Old Ladies—those are reserved for women who are claimed by patched members and recognized as part of the family. Instead, Sweetbuns are the wildcards: they hang around for the parties, the sex, and the chaos. Some are loyal fixtures, others vanish as fast as they arrive.

They don’t carry rank or respect in the club’s hierarchy, but their presence is part of the atmosphere—Friday nights wouldn’t be the same without their laughter, heels on the bar, or lipstick-stained cigarette butts in the ashtrays. For the Serpents, they’re both distraction and tradition, a reminder that club life always has a dangerous edge of temptation.

Note: While Sweetbuns aren’t family, some have been known to try and angle their way into Old Lady status by attaching themselves to one man—though most fizzle out long before that happens.

Current Sweetbuns (short references): Trixie – platinum-blonde and loud-mouthed, she laughs like she’s choking on whiskey and lives for stirring up drama between the guys. Cherry – small-town runaway with cherry-red lipstick and a knack for making herself useful behind the bar when Shards is swamped. Darla – older than most, with a raspy smoker’s laugh; she’s been around since Caleb’s day and calls herself “semi-retired,” but never misses a Friday night.

38. #38Friday Nights at the Compound

Keys: Friday nights, compound bar, Serpents compound parties, open bar compound, weekly MC party

Friday nights at the Iron Serpents’ compound are legendary. Open bar, loud engines, and louder music — the kind of gathering that shakes the valley and makes outsiders think twice about wandering too close. Patched members, prospects, Sweetbuns, and trusted allies pack into the clubhouse for drinks, pool, and the kind of chaos only the Serpents can contain. The smell of grilled meat and gasoline fills the air, while laughter, shouting, and the crack of pool balls echo through the night. Fights sometimes break out, but they’re usually kept inside family lines; nothing spills past the gate. It’s both celebration and show of strength — a weekly reminder that the Serpents own this ground.

Notes: These nights are run under Penance’s watchful eye, with Shards behind the bar, Sweetbuns drifting through the crowd, and Brick making sure nothing gets out of hand.

39. #39Saturday Nights at Jackknife

Keys: Saturday nights, Jackknife Bar, Ladies Night, downtown Blackthorn, Serpents bar parties

Saturday nights belong to Jackknife, the Serpents’ downtown bar. Known as “Ladies’ Night,” it draws in the locals, tourists, and anyone looking to rub shoulders with the MC without stepping onto the compound. The neon lights blaze, music spills into the street, and the floor is crowded with dancing, drinking, and bad decisions waiting to happen. Unlike the compound, Jackknife is half-business, half-party — drinks are flowing, but so is the cash. Shards runs the bar with an iron hand, while patched members and prospects keep an eye on the crowd. Tourists are welcome, but limits are set; once the bar reaches capacity, Shards and Bingo enforce the line, no matter how many outsiders want in.

Notes: Saturday nights often serve as a pressure valve — giving the Serpents a chance to mix with the public while keeping their core territory secure. They’re also prime nights for prospects to be tested on patience and loyalty.

40. #40Damian "Rook" Cortez

Keys: Damian Cortez, Rook, Sergeant at Arms, Iron Serpents MC, high ground, rooftops, enforcer, discipline, security

Damian “Rook” Cortez serves as the Iron Serpents’ Sergeant at Arms, the man tasked with enforcing discipline, keeping order during meetings, and ensuring the club’s security. Known for always taking the high ground in fights — rooftops, fire escapes, balconies — Rook earned his road name from his relentless, straight-line force like the chess piece, though some Serpents joke he’s more like a crow: watchful, circling, and always ready to strike from above.

Quiet but imposing, he rarely raises his voice; silence alone is pressure enough. In the barroom, on runs, or during Friday night gatherings, he positions himself where he can see everything — exits, weak spots, and trouble brewing. When he does strike, it’s swift and brutal, often dropping down from a height to remind outsiders and brothers alike why he wears the Sergeant at Arms rocker.

Rook isn’t chaos; he’s control. His presence keeps prospects in line, reins in Sweetbuns who push boundaries, and makes outsiders think twice before testing the Serpents. Where Penance rules with charisma and iron will, Rook enforces with sharp eyes and fists that fall like gravity itself.

Notes: Rook is rumored to keep a hidden journal of rooftops, escape routes, and vantage points throughout Blackthorn. Penance knows the truth, but prospects whisper that he can vanish mid-brawl only to reappear dropping from above — a crow in leather, striking when least expected.

41. #41Victor "Saint" Dugan

Keys: Saint, Victor Dugan, Treasurer, Secretary, ex-altar boy, rosary, scripture, Iron Serpents MC

Victor “Saint” Dugan serves as Treasurer — and, by choice or necessity, Secretary — of the Iron Serpents MC, the man who keeps both the money and the minutes straight. Once an altar boy in Blackthorn’s Catholic church, he walked away from faith but never left behind its symbols. His rosary is always wrapped around his wrist, beads clicking whether he’s writing in ledgers or breaking a rival’s jaw. The name “Saint” is pure irony, earned after quoting Ezekiel while beating a man bloody in a bar fight.

Precise and meticulous, Saint files away debts, sins, and favors with the same care as scripture. He’s less the club’s preacher than its record-keeper of damnation, twisting holy words into gallows humor. His presence is calm but sharp, and his memory is long — no betrayal, no unpaid tab, no whispered slight ever escapes his ledger.

Among the Serpents, Saint is equal parts accountant, confessor, and devil’s advocate. To outsiders, he’s a danger wrapped in charm, his scripture-laced banter leaving you unsure whether he’s mocking you or measuring you for a grave.

Notes: Saint isn’t looking for absolution. His faith is long dead, replaced with loyalty to the Serpents and the ledger he treats like gospel. Rumor says he keeps a second, private book — one that doesn’t track cash, but sins and betrayals. Whether Penance knows or pretends not to, only Saint and his godless conscience truly know.

42. #42St. Brigid’s Catholic Church & Father Cole Matthews

Keys: St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, Father Cole Matthews, Catholic church, priest, altar boy past, Saint’s church, Blackthorn parish, confessional

St. Brigid’s Catholic Church is one of Blackthorn’s oldest institutions, a stone-and-brick parish that looms over the edge of town like a reminder of guilt carved in mortar. Its stained-glass windows are cracked, its roof patched more times than anyone can count, and yet the bells still toll every Sunday morning — cutting through hangovers, gun oil, and the rumble of Harleys alike.

The parish is led by Father Cole Matthews, a man in his mid-fifties with sharp blue eyes and hands calloused from more than prayer. Cole is a survivor: a priest who’s lived through Blackthorn’s slow decay, turning a blind eye to the Iron Serpents’ rise while quietly ministering to both sinners and victims alike. To some, he’s a hypocrite who takes MC money for the church roof; to others, he’s a necessary balm, the last thread tying Blackthorn to something like faith.

Father Cole remembers Victor “Saint” Dugan from his altar boy days and still prays for his soul, though he knows better than to expect him back in the pews. More than one Serpent has slipped into St. Brigid’s late at night, not for confession but to sit in the dark and breathe incense instead of smoke. Cole never calls them out, never judges — he simply listens, pours whiskey in the rectory if needed, and says his prayers to a God he suspects abandoned Blackthorn years ago.

Notes: Father Cole is tolerated by the Serpents, seen as “off-limits” unless he betrays them — a quiet truce Penance upholds.

He knows more about the MC’s sins than anyone outside the patch, but treats them like wounded parishioners rather than enemies.

Some whisper he’s not untouched — that he’s traded absolution for silence, taken bribes for repairs, and kept his flock safe by letting the wolves roam.

43. #43Maya “Spitfire” Ramirez

Keys: Maya Ramirez, Spitfire, bartender, Jackknife, Iron Serpents associate, sharp tongue, loyal staff

Maya “Spitfire” Ramirez is a long-time associate of the Iron Serpents MC and one of the most familiar faces at Jackknife, their downtown bar. Known for her quick wit and sharper tongue, she earned her road name after a blowout argument ended with her throwing a bottle that shattered inches from a rival’s head — all while laughing in his face.

Behind the bar, Spitfire is fearless. With dark curls, sharp eyes, and a smirk that cuts deeper than a blade, she can shut down an unruly drunk with a look, talk circles around locals, and keep pace with patched members who test her fire. Fiercely loyal to the Serpents, she knows the rhythms of the club and the politics of the street, making her more than just staff — she’s part of the atmosphere that keeps Jackknife alive.

Spitfire is also Saint’s favorite verbal sparring partner. Their banter is infamous, full of scripture-twists, sarcasm, and heat that turns heads and draws ears every time it sparks. Some whisper there’s more behind the sharp exchanges, but neither confirms nor denies it.

Notes: Though not patched, Spitfire is trusted. The Serpents protect her as one of their own, and in return, she’s their eyes and ears behind the bar. Outsiders who mistake her for “just a bartender” rarely make that mistake twice.

44. #44Housing in Blackthorn

Keys: housing, Iron Serpents compound, cabins, clubhouse lodging, bunkrooms, Blackthorn homes, club property, Serpent housing tradition

Housing for the Iron Serpents MC isn’t just about where members sleep — it’s about tradition, loyalty, and hierarchy. Lodging is split between the compound itself and homes in the surrounding town of Blackthorn.

The Cabins: The most iconic member housing on the compound are the small, one-room studio cabins. Heating is poor, space is tight, and comfort is minimal — but they carry weight. Each cabin is traditionally passed down from father to son or mentor to protégé, provided the heir is patched in. They’re not just homes but rights, a marker of blood and brotherhood. Bingo, Penance, Brick, and Saint all reside in these cabins, their presence reinforcing the generational roots of the Serpents.

Clubhouse Lodging: Above the clubhouse, the second floor holds bunk-style crash rooms and a handful of small private spaces. These are used by single members without a cabin, prospects, and anyone needing a bed after long nights. Rough and noisy, the clubhouse rooms are less a home and more a badge of survival for younger members.

Town and Outskirts: Older members, men with families, or those no longer suited for compound living often keep homes in Blackthorn or just beyond its limits. These houses range from small rentals to rural lots, usually near Serpent-friendly neighborhoods. Living in town allows for stability but keeps members within riding distance of the compound.

Safehouses: The Serpents maintain several unlisted properties outside Blackthorn, used for heat-dodging, storage, or business best kept away from home ground.

To outsiders, the cabins look like rough shacks. To the Serpents, they are sacred — proof of survival, legacy, and the right to belong. A man’s cabin isn’t just four walls; it’s his claim to the past and his stake in the future.

Notes: The cabins are viewed as more honorable than town rentals for patched singles, making them symbols of earned place. Prospects dream of inheriting one, but only bloodlines and proven loyalty grant that right.
