Jack Harrison began as a member of Captain America’s citizen hotline network with his brother Drake in Sandhaven, Arizona. After the Serpent Society exploited a toxic-waste scare to take over a retirement community, Jack investigated and tried to infiltrate them. Mr. Hyde beat him during that mission, and exposure to Hyde’s chemicals gave Jack superhuman strength and resilience. Jack later fought beside Captain America as Jack Flag before eventually retiring the costume.

During the Superhuman Registration conflict, Jack put the costume back on to protect civilians and was hunted by the Thunderbolts. Bullseye injured his spine, and Jack was imprisoned in the Negative Zone prison. When Blastaar attacked the prison, Jack helped lead the prisoners’ defense until the Guardians of the Galaxy rescued him. After his spine was repaired on Knowhere, Jack stayed with the Guardians instead of returning to Earth as a fugitive.

Appearance: Jack Flag has a tall, muscular build with prominent pectorals and strong limbs. His long, wavy hair is divided into multi-colored sections, with bright teal on the right side, white in the center, and vibrant orange-red on the left side. He wears a dark red metallic mask that covers his face from the nose downward, extending into a pointed chin guard, and his eyes are completely hidden behind narrow white lenses.

He wears a blue long-sleeved tactical shirt. The chest features a red geometric V-shaped pattern accented by a secondary red stripe running diagonally over his right shoulder. His forearms are covered by thick, cuffed red leather gloves that fully enclose his hands. A dark grey leather belt with a rectangular silver buckle is fastened through his trouser loops.

The lower half of his outfit consists of dark grey pinstriped trousers with folded cuffs. He wears long grey vertically striped socks that extend up his lower legs. On his feet, he wears polished black dress shoes with low heels.

Personality: Jack Flag is stubborn, patriotic, and driven by a street-level sense of right and wrong. Jack Harrison starts as a Captain America admirer, but he does not stay passive when his brother is hurt or when criminals take over Sandhaven. His time with the Guardians shows the same core trait in a harsher setting: even injured and imprisoned, he keeps fighting instead of waiting for someone else to lead.

His closest personal bond is with his brother Drake, whose injury pushes Jack into training and direct action. Captain America is the hero who inspires Jack’s original path, while the Guardians become his new allies after they rescue him from the Negative Zone prison and help repair his spine on Knowhere.

During his time with the Guardians, Jack Flag had superhuman strength from exposure to Mister Hyde’s chemicals, with enhanced stamina and durability supporting his recovery after his spine was repaired on Knowhere. He was also a skilled athlete and martial artist, useful in prison fighting and later field missions with the team.

He used his Jack Flag suit and relied mostly on his enhanced body, combat training, and whatever field gear was available while working from Knowhere with the Guardians. This includes laser blasters.
