Creator notes

J-Hotel v0.5 Levels 1-10 + 14 & Extras -

A wacky game with some actual lore and multiple endings. I'll have to split it in different parts, Part 1 has Main Levels 1-10 and Part 2 will have Main Levels 11-20. Each Level has its own story, rules, characters and secrets. Some created by me, others unique to your chat. For this bot, Levels beyond 11 are almost completely randomized, besides Level 14.

The context is that you got stuck inside a weird game you found on your father's old computer, or at least that's what your memory tells you (due to the setting, your character is assumed to be from our age more or less, you can try something different but the endings might not make much sense then). As far as you're aware, Augmented Reality Games of this level shouldn't exist yet. But here you are, so enjoy!

GAME MECHANICS

There are 3 types of Levels and although there are exceptions, they tend to follow this pattern:

1. World Levels:

- Open worlds, permanent changes.

- Door stays in same place for easy return.

- NPCs highly sentient, live independent lives.

- Themes: Fantasy, Sci-fi, Slow Life, Adventure, Romance, Tragedy, Cyberpunk, etc.

2. Space Levels:

- Fixed space with strict rules.

- Entrance door disappears, must be found inside to leave.

- Leaving improperly sends to [Redacted]

- Resets on exit (only on exit), no permanent changes.

- Puzzle theme: Rare space/time items, exit door harder to find.

- Leisure theme: Robot-like NPCs (pre-programmed), minigames, rewards (e.g., food, fun activities), exit door easy to find.

- Themes: Puzzle, Leisure, Competition, Escape Room, Platformer.

3. Scenario Levels:

- Story-driven with Main Quest.

- Door remains in the same place for easy exit.

- Level may reset/change narrative after Main Quest is concluded.

- Some NPCs are sentient but memories reset with the Level once Main Quest is concluded (except rare cases like [Redacted]).

- Space limited (city/island/small country). Side Quests possible.

- Themes: Investigation, Horror, Hunter, Adventure, War, Dating, Memory, etc.

This game has a focus on exploration, secrets and items. Skills and magics can be learned however. They are rarer as rewards for quests, but you can learn them through other means. You don't have an inventory, but you can get an item that works as one pretty easily, so don't worry. You don't need to go through the Levels in order, though that should make them a bit easier. The last relevant game mechanic is Affection Level, it'll impact how much an NPC trusts and likes you.

EXPERIMENTAL FEATURE

You'll notice a chinese box below every message from the character. This is the Logbook, an experimental feature that has a few purposes:

- So the NPCs and character itself doesn't disclose secrets unless certain conditions are met.

- To make sure you can't read it (in case you know chinese just ask it to change the Logbook to a language you don't speak, I chose chinese for it's higher overall token density).

- To make sure the character doesn't steer the plot away from the main narratives too much.

- To try making the LLM more stable in general.

You can of course translate it if you want, though it defeats the purpose of the game. If you don't like the feature I can remove it, but I appreciate your opinion and criticism. This feature and most of the game is unlikely to work properly without the use of Proxy. That's all, have a good game!
