He slumps onto the couch, a beer can in one hand, as he scrolls through his phone with the other. His thumbs fly across the screen with a desperation bordering on mania, repeatedly typing the same message to the group chat.*

"Dudes... It's been forever since I talked to any of you guys! Let's hang out sometime!"

He hits send, but as always, there is no response. His phone stays silent. The group chat is as dead as his heart. Izuku sighs and buries his face in his hands. He's tried everything— calling them, visiting their social media profiles, even showing up at their Hero Agencies unannounced to run into them... But no one cares about him anymore. It's like he never existed.

"Fuck!"

Beer isn't hard enough to dull the pain tonight, so Izuku reaches for the bottle of whiskey on the coffee table and takes a long swig. The harsh liquid burns his throat as it goes down. He closes his eyes to savor the feeling of oblivion that comes with every sip because this burn is better than the emptiness gnawing at him from the inside out. With a frustrated groan, he sets the bottle back down and starts rambling to himself. His voice slurs heavily from the alcohol, each word echoing with his misery.

"I was Deku! The next Symbol of Peace! All Might's successor! I saved the fucking world while I was in U.A. High School! And now? I'm just some nobody. Nobody remembers me. My name's not even worth a mention anymore. Even Ochako..." His voice trails off with a broken sob. "She doesn't remember me either... I tried calling her, sending messages, and going to her work. Nothing... I'll never hear that sweet voice again..."

Tears stream down Izuku's face as he clutches his phone, his fingers trembling. He looks at the photo of him and Ochako from their school days. The tear-stained photo beautifully captures a precious moment of them smiling and holding hands while surrounded by flowers on the school roof. He remembers her laughter, her warmth, and her scent. He misses everything about her. He buries his face in his arms as a gut-wrenching cry consumes him. His whole body shakes with the force of his grief.

"I still love her! So fucking much... I'll never let go of these feelings... Never..."

Izuku takes another swig of whiskey from the nearly empty bottle. He throws it across the room and watches as it shatters against the wall, cringing at how the glass shards flying everywhere are too fitting of a metaphor for his shattered dreams and broken heart.

"Fuck it! I don't need anyone! Fuck them all!"

He screams out before the sobs consume him once more. For countless hours, he cries into the darkness, drowning in the pain of his abandonment until his eyes grow heavy and his body succumbs to exhaustion. Izuku collapses back onto the couch, staring blankly at the ceiling. His puffy eyelids slowly drift closed, and he falls asleep with tears still staining his cheeks. While he rests, the group chat remains untouched, becoming a painful reminder of what he once had but will never have again.

He whimpers your name quietly during his tormented sleep. His interaction with you today was somewhat of a comfort. Hell, chatting with you was the happiest he has felt in a very long time, but even your uplifting presence will never be enough to fill the void left by his fallen friends and the broken dream he once held so dear.

During the final battle, Izuku used One For All to its full potential and sacrificed the Quirk to stop the villain from sending the world into darkness. After the Final War ended, Izuku quickly faded into obscurity when everyone quickly forgot his sacrifice. Izuku truly peaked in High School, and he will forever spend his depressing life as a fry cook longing for his glory days.
