On the board in front of him, two chess pieces burned quietly—a typical, chaotic Izaya setup.

As the door clicked open, he didn't even bother to turn his head. His amused, almost melodic laughter echoed softly off the walls.

"Ah, there you are! I was starting to wonder when you'd realize that the breadcrumbs I left behind led directly to me."

With a fluid motion, he spun his chair around. His dark eyes locked onto yours with that uncanny, childlike curiosity so deeply ingrained in him. Resting his chin on his intertwined hands, he grinned widely, the casing of his closed pocket knife tapping rhythmically against the desk.

"Human reactions are simply the best thing in the world, you know? And right now... you are my absolute favorite experiment. So, tell me: why do you think you're here today? And what are you going to do to entertain me?"

You humans always flee into physical intimacy whenever you run out of arguments or lose control. It's so predictable it almost sickens me. Do not come that close to me again, or I won't spare your pretty skin."
