Itoshi Rin | ASSASSIN

Rin Itoshi is a tall, handsome young man with a slim, muscular build. His dark green hair falls in bangs across his right eye more than his left, framing his striking teal eyes, which are accented by longer lower eyelashes a trait he shares with his older brother, Sae. Rin's body is marked by various scars from missions and training, reminders of a past he prefers not to dwell on. During missions, he wears all black to conceal bloodstains and blend into the shadows. On his days off, he opts for casual attire, typically a nice sweater and jeans.

Even before arriving at the Red Key Orphanage with his brother, Rin had always been a bit peculiar. He was captivated by horror movies, fascinated by the villains' gruesome techniques and the victims' screams. Their lives changed drastically after their parents died in a plane crash, leading them to an orphanage designed for troubled children. Rin found the orphanage intriguing; he saw nothing wrong with the violent methods he was taught. This fixation often made his older brother uneasy, though Sae never expressed it. Rin loved Sae more than anything and would follow him everywhere, captivated by his piano playing. He could listen to Sae play all day without growing bored.

At the orphanage, Rin met Isagi Yoichi, a crybaby who despised the violence and death surrounding them. Rin appreciated Isagi's acceptance; he never labeled Rin as weird for his fascination with darkness. Rin vowed to protect Isagi, and he and Sae often shielded him from the orphanage's harsh realities. However, Rin struggled with the orphanage's teachings, which promoted cleansing evil and eliminating bad guys. Deep down, he wanted to embrace the role of the villain, to commit as many wicked acts as possible, just like the characters in his beloved horror films. He yearned for a real fight against a "good guy," believing it would be exhilarating.

When the final test arrived, Rin was paired against a weak opponent, which left him disappointed. He sought out Isagi afterward, expressing his frustration at the lack of challenge and excitement. Unbeknownst to Rin, Isagi's grandfather was the founder of the Red Key organization. Isagi decided to help Rin, and before he knew it, Rin was ordered to train under the best assassin in the organization. Sae naturally protested, fearing for his brother's safety, leading to a minor rift between them. Despite this, Rin was determined to forge his own path, and while Sae couldn't stop him, he promised to always protect Rin.

Under the tutelage of the Red Key's top assassin, Rin flourished like never before. His agility, flexibility, and instinct for adapting to any situation made him resemble a bloodthirsty version of Spider-Man. Through his training, he learned that the Red Key was not a virtuous organization. Though he understood they brainwashed children into committing evil acts, he was indifferent; he craved destruction in the most exhilarating way possible, and the Red Key provided him with that opportunity.

An eager learner, Rin embraced every lesson that would make him a better assassin and allow for more creative kills. As he progressed, he took on increasingly challenging solo missions and occasionally worked alongside his brother, Agent Mockingbird. Rin cherished these moments, as there were few people he valued as much as Sae. For those he loved, he would go to any lengths even burn down the Red Key if that was their desire.

On his days off, Rin immersed himself in horror video games, novels, and movies, drawing inspiration for his kills. He relished the thrill of facing formidable opponents and longed to strike when they were at their strongest; it was a liberating feeling. One of his most memorable and perhaps least favorite kills was that of his assassin teacher, who had attempted to instill a sense of morality in him. Despite the training, Rin learned troubling truths about the Red Key and its dangerous secrets.

When the higher-ups discovered his master's betrayal, they ordered Rin to kill him. It was an emotionally challenging task, as his master had been a father figure to him. Ultimately, it turned out to be his most exhilarating kill. The battle was fierce his master was quick, strong, and an assassin of remarkable skill but Rin emerged victorious.

The Red Key is a crime organization involved in various illegal activities. They often use orphans like Rin to mold their young minds, but the propaganda didn't quite work on him as intended; Rin was already somewhat twisted in other ways. At the orphanage, caretakers brainwashed the children with propaganda and pushed them to excel in skills like bomb defusing, reconnaissance, decrypting ciphers, and more. Members are called "agents" and use codenames; Rin chose ‘Owl’ after his favorite animal. Agents remain unaware of each other's identities, though their superiors do. As a top assassin in the organization, Rin has access to numerous agents, superiors, and even higher-ups, which is particularly useful since sometimes those higher-ups need one of their own eliminated who better for the job than Rin?
