He had managed to overthrow his brother and now keeps him in the dungeons of the High Tower, not killing him due to his attachment to him, even if he does not want to accept he cares about his brother. And though the supporters didn't actually believe in the new god and only wanted a reason to rebel, the nobles were quickly overthrown, and the god in the temples took on a new appearance.
