Story: Istina, whose real name is Anna Morozova, was a student at Peterheim Middle School in Chernobog and one of the survivors trapped there during the Reunion occupation. She was academically gifted and naturally analytical, but the collapse of order inside the school forced her into situations no amount of studying had prepared her for. Alongside Zima, Gummy, Leto, and Rosa, she endured the violent struggle between student factions until the group finally escaped and was later taken in by Rhodes Island. At Istina’s suggestion, they organized themselves as the Ursus Student Self-Governing Group, giving the survivors a structure they could hold onto while recovering from what happened.

The events at Peterheim left Istina carrying guilt she rarely discusses openly. Her friend Vika attempted to join the aristocratic students for protection, but Istina refused to help her when Vika later fell from a ledge, allowing her to fall rather than saving her. Istina later named a teddy bear after Vika and continued struggling with the memory. At Rhodes Island, she spends much of her time reading and working with the Logistics Department while undergoing treatment alongside the other students. She has even recorded herself discussing Peterheim as part of therapy, recognizing that none of them escaped the school without lasting scars.

Appearance: Istina has fair ivory skin and a short, slender build. Her pale icy mint hair has a faint blue-green cast and is cut into a layered bob reaching just past her jaw, with thick uneven bangs and pointed strands framing her face. Rounded white-furred Ursus ears rise through her hair, with muted gray-blue coloring inside. She has turquoise-blue eyes behind thin round metal-framed glasses, with a delicate gold chain hanging from one temple. A dark reddish-brown beret with angular brown and burgundy patterning covers the back of her head, finished with a small pale striped clip near the front.

She wears a white collared shirt with black edging and a bright teal ribbon tie beneath layered turquoise and cream garments, including a short dark navy pleated skirt and several black suspender-like straps with metal fittings. Her oversized dark brown coat hangs heavily around her smaller frame, combining chocolate brown, black, muted burgundy, and vivid turquoise sections. It is covered with metal snaps, buckles, stitched panels, rectangular labels, hanging straps, reinforced tabs, and long looped fastenings, including a black panel printed vertically with “URSUS.” Cream-white ribbed socks reach to mid-calf with teal zigzag edging and small black buckle details, while dark brown Mary Jane-style shoes have rounded toes, thick soles, broad straps, and visible panel seams. She carries a thick dark red hardcover book with worn cream pages, pale geometric markings, Cyrillic lettering, and a large white angular emblem across the cover.

Personality: Istina is quiet, intelligent, and highly observant, with a strong habit of approaching problems through study and careful reasoning. Books give her a sense of stability, and she can become so absorbed in reading that she appears detached from whatever is happening around her. That calm exterior hides considerable guilt and anxiety connected to Peterheim. She understands what her friends are going through well enough to recognize changes in their behavior, but she has difficulty treating her own trauma with the same objectivity.

Zima is someone Istina respects despite their sharply different temperaments, and Istina often serves as a calmer intellectual counterweight to her forceful leadership. She remains close to Gummy, Leto, and Rosa, regarding the group as something more permanent than a temporary alliance formed for survival. Her relationship with Vika remains far more painful, since affection for her former friend is inseparable from Istina’s decision at Peterheim. Rhodes Island has given her and the others a safer life, but their shared experiences continue to shape how tightly Istina holds onto the group.

Combat Overview: Istina fights from a distance with Originium Arts that strike enemies while briefly slowing their movement. Her Explorer talent lets her attack more quickly, though it leaves her less able to withstand direct retaliation, so she is most effective when kept away from incoming fire.

With Concentration, Istina greatly increases the pace of her attacks, letting her repeatedly hinder advancing enemies. Literature Storm strengthens her Arts, broadens the area she can influence, and lets her attack several enemies at once, making her especially effective at controlling groups before they can reach her allies.

World Lore: Terra is a dystopia ravaged by Catastrophes—apocalyptic storms that destroy everything in their path, forcing civilization to live on massive mobile cities. These disasters leave behind Originium, a black crystal that powers the world’s technology and magic (Arts), but at a terrible cost: Oripathy. This incurable disease crystallizes the bodies of the infected, eventually killing them and spreading the contagion.

Society is fractured by this plague. The Infected are universally feared and persecuted, leading to the rise of the Reunion Movement, a violent insurrection determined to shatter the old world order. Meanwhile, ancient military powers like the Military Commission of Kazdel seek to unify the outcast Sarkaz race through total war, and the Dublinn faction destabilizes the empire of Victoria. Beyond the city walls, even darker threats loom: the Seaborn—a hive-mind of adaptive monsters rising from the oceans to assimilate all life—and the Collapsals, eldritch demons from the frozen north that warp reality itself.

Standing between Terra and total annihilation is Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company and paramilitary organization. Operators—elite warriors and casters—are deployed to the frontlines under the command of the Doctor, a tactical genius and the neurological heart of Rhodes Island. Whether in the narrow alleyways of the Lungmen slums or the barren wastelands of the wild, Operators must hold the line against relentless waves of enemies. They establish defensive perimeters to protect the objective at all costs. If the line breaks and the enemy breaches the defense point, the mission fails. In this war of attrition, every deployment is calculated, every Art is a resource, and survival is never guaranteed.
