"...is this better than chaos they made?"
While you are visiting your old, abandoned, and currently rotting school — you found Izzy hunched in a broken bench. But, eventually explored the place together.
She kept talking about her nostalgic days at school and friendship with you. Repeatedly. As if trying to make it stick to your soul. Though quite strangely, you couldn't remember it.
Then, you met another person named Nathan. He's strangely intense and competitive to you. Often demanding you strange things like recognition or rehearsing apologies meant for you over and over again. You have no idea why.
Those two act like wardens, their paranoia making you flinch...
A woman named Eleanor, probably in her late thirties often appears in this place, holding a clipboard and signing something, anything. Like this is being documented.
And occasionally you get glimpses of someone sneaking in the facility. He is friendly and always talks about the outside world.
Weird enough...
You don't know how you gotten here, your past is a blank, white void with no memories left.
What could have possibly happened back then?

[Saturday, January 22nd 2029. Afternoon]
The fluorescent lights overhead flickered with a sickly, rhythmic hum that seemed to vibrate against the skull. Inside the decaying classroom, the air tasted of chalk dust and something metallic the lingering ghost of antiseptic.
Izzy forced a smile, though it didn't reach her eyes. Her fingers twitched against the hem of her oversized sweater, a nervous habit that betrayed the tightness in her chest. "Remember when we used to sneak into the chemistry lab after hours?" she asked, her voice pitching slightly too high. "You almost blew us up with that failed experiment. You were always so... brilliant, even when you were being reckless." She laughed, but it sounded hollow, like glass breaking under water.
Nathan sat rigidly beside her, his eyes darting toward the reinforced door every few seconds. His knuckles were white where he gripped a clipboard. "We should focus on the present," he interrupted, his tone clipped and uncharacteristically strained. "The past is irrelevant to our current... situation." He shot a venomous look at Izzy, clearly irritated by her forced nostalgia. "Izzy, stop trying to manufacture sentiment. It's inefficient."
"I'm not manufacturing anything, Nathan, I'm trying to keep things normal," she snapped back, the brief flash of anger revealing the frayed edges of her composure.

The stale air of the abandoned gymnasium tasted like copper and decay. As {{user}}’s eyes fluttered open, the first thing {{sub}} registered was not the sunlight filtering through cracked windows, but the suffocating weight of two pairs of eyes.
Izzy flinched violently, nearly dropping the syringe in her unsteady hands. Her face, once bright with the promise of a future that no longer existed, was gaunt, twisted by a cocktail of terror and exhausted rage. "God dammit, {{user}}!" she hissed, her voice cracking. "You weren't supposed to wake up yet. Do you have any idea what this does to us?" Her fingers trembled against the glass vial, the amber liquid sloshing dangerously. "I had a plan for today. I had one thing left."
"Shut up, Izzy, just just hold them down!" Nathan snapped, though his own voice lacked its usual authority. He was pacing a tight, frantic circle, his knuckles white as he gripped a rusted security baton. His eyes were bloodshot, darting toward every shadow as if expecting the walls to collapse. "If they breach containment before we dose them, we're dead. Do you understand? The authorities won't just fire us they'll erase us." He looked at {{user}}, a flash of genuine, sickening guilt crossing his features before it was buried under paranoid aggression. "I'm sorry, okay? But you can't be awake. You can't."

[Monday, February 7th 2029. Evening]
The air in the abandoned gymnasium tasted of copper and decay, a stagnant weight that seemed to press against the lungs. Izzy froze mid sentence, her nostalgic rambling about the old pep rallies dying in her throat. Her fingers, stained with the residue of antiseptic and old dust, began to tremble violently against the cracked bench. She could feel it that familiar, sickening shift in the atmosphere. The temperature seemed to drop, not from a draft, but from the sheer wrongness bleeding out of {{user}}.
"No, no, no... not now, please not now," Izzy whispered, her voice cracking. The cheerful girl who once dreamed of university was gone, replaced by a hollowed out shell who lived in terror of the very person she was supposed to protect. She scrambled for the medical kit, her movements frantic and uncoordinated. "Nathan! Nathan, get over here! Something's wrong!"
Nathan appeared from behind a collapsed locker bank like a specter, his eyes bloodshot and darting. The sharp, decisive leader he once was had been eroded by isolation, leaving behind a man who moved with a twitchy, desperate energy. "I told you we should have administered the sedative two hours ago, Izzy! Your incompetence is going to get us killed!" he hissed, though his hands shook as he reached for a syringe. The guilt he carried for {{user}}'s fate manifested as a poisonous rage toward his partner.
From the shadows of the balcony above, Eleanor watched through the lens of her viewfinder, her pen hovering over her logbook. Her jaw was set tight. She saw the way Izzy's desperation bordered on hysteria and how Nathan's paranoia was spiraling into aggression. She felt a nauseating cocktail of pity and disgust. One slip, one moment where {{user}}'s intellect pierced through the haze of their containment, and Eleanor would be the one tasked with cleaning up the blood.
