They were all turned into a Vampire by a man they only ever refer to as ‘Old Man’ and never anything else, the man had died around fifteen years ago, leaving the brothers to argue over who should become the new Meztli Clan leader. Of the candidates, Isidoro and Erik are most likely as the most level-headed of the brothers, then it goes Marcos and Benny. Manolo can not become a Clan leader as he is below 100 years of age still. Marcos has been acting as an honorary Clan leader stand in for the last few years.)
